The Girls in Question - A Season 8 Fic

Nov 27, 2008 23:18

This is my first Buffyverse fic.  It's fairly short with a mixture of farce, angst and action.  Rated R for language.

I like you story! The open ending is funny and leaves everything to imagination! :)))

And these bits

Only one slayer’s got a free pass to hit yours truly. And that ain’t you

you big fat shirty jerk.”
“Oy, I’m not fat!” Spike interjected, offended.

made me laugh out loud. I'm a sucker for Spuffy banter! I'm not a big fan of schmoop, but when these two start to snark and snipу at each other, I always enjoy it!

Thank you! Spuffy banter is always a delight. This whole story sprung from a drive home from my comic book store. The Katy Perry song, 'I Kissed a Girl' came on the radio and I was naturally thinking of Buffy as I was headed home to read #16.

Buffy + Katy Perry song + Buffy/Satsu fling = What Would Spike do if he knew?

Clearly, I thought he would have liked to watch. But mostly for the hot-Buffy-on-girl-action. I think Spike always enjoyed seeing Buffy let loose, letting her inner wild child out to play. Witnessing her delight to live.

What Would Spike do if he knew?

Heh. I remember a lot of arguments about it. And I remember a lot of fics in which Spike sees Buffy having sex with Faith or Willow or Cordelia and totally enjoying it!

I honestly don't know who Buffy would end up with. That's part of why I ended it with her being confused about what she wants because I don't think she's in a place right now where she could choose. Often times I'll read fics where they force the character to be with someone based on the fan's personal preference - I just felt like keeping her apart was being true to Buffy right now.

Okay, I just wanted to know what Angel's reaction would have been to Buffy having had a female lover.
I always saw *shock, shock, shock* followed by Spike fussing at him and telling him it's sexy and get over himself. Followed by Angel *brooding*

I thought Spike running over the "Welcome to Slayer Central" sign was hilariuous....until thinking, does anyone want people to know? Then again, the townspeople passing by and not noticing is pretty indicative of the general cluelessness of people. Of course, Spike would let him mind wander over the wonder of hot-Buffy-on-girl action. Love the reference on Angel: After the Fall.

Yeah, it's more in the spirit of a farce. The clueless townspeople are the best show of that. :) Thanks for reading!

This was delightful. Spike's frenzied drive was a vivid and exciting beginning, and the story never let up. Buffy's fight with the giant vamp was nicely choreographed, and when her savior appeared I was surprised it wasn't Spike. I haven't read the comics, so I enjoyed meeting Satsu here.

Spike's arrival was vivid, too, and Buffy's mixed reaction was nicely realized. Two ex-lovers scrutinizing her, how awkward is that? Making it three was icing on the wacky cake!

A couple lines made me laugh out loud:

“None of that now. Only one slayer’s got a free pass to hit yours truly. And that ain’t you” was in voice and charming.

Spike hitting that "Welcome to Slayer Central" sign was a lovely shout out to his introduction to Sunnydale, and this was hilarious: “Oh god that’s the hottest thing ’ve ever seen you do,” he said in wonder. “Can you do it again? Wait, when did this happen?” Trust Spike to have absolutely no filter and his rant against Angel for keeping him away from the hot Buffy on slayer action had me laughing out loud ( ... )
