I have Faith on the brain today, so here's another short piece. I think this is becoming a thing. I even went and hunted down icons. (obiwahn , thanks!) Oh, Faith - how did I manage to resist you for so long

Mmm, alright. Real life is kicking my ass right now, so I don't have a lot of time for fandom or writing. But the semester is at end here soon and I'm hoping to catch a break. Maybe even catch up on the Spuffy stories I've not been able to read these past few months. :)
Thanks! Yeah, the "Wicked" thing just seemed to fit in this immediate sense in my brain (I kinda wrote this as stream of consciousness, then went back to give it structure) and it's especially neat how that's one of her words, too.
And you hate her for that. You hate her almost as much as you love her. But most of all, you hate yourself for loving her when she’ll never love you back. And pretty soon all that’s left is hate, churning in your gut, shivering across your skin.
That is so perfectly S3 Faith. I can't help but feel still that Buffy and Co. really failed her, helped to "create" her in a certain sense (something that's really heightened every time I watch "The Wish," in particular. There's a theme there that the Slayer is a product of her environment, not just her destiny, and Faith always got the short end. How could they leave her in that motel?). Anyway, I'm gettin' ranty, so I'll knock it off and just say how well this all works. :)

Yes, they definitely did their part. But I think what truly makes it tragic is that it was a combination of circumstances, Buffy and Co. failing at times and Faith being too insecure to take their hand when they did offer it. Because there were many times that Buffy did try, even Angel and Giles and Xander gave it a go. But she was too far gone, never able to reach out.

Love that line. I can so imagine Faith saying exactly that. Well done.
