Fuck!
No one knows decoyBuffy's real name. Not even the decoy, she actually thinks she is the better Buffster.
The Immortal is such a superior being, all must bow down to his...oh i can't wait for Spike to kill him! Spike does get to kill him right?
All in all, a hell of a chapter. This story keeps getting better and better.

Spike definitely needs to kill the Immortal, and I could imagine the fun of Buffy vs. Decoy!Buffy.. that or letting Connor have a go at it all. XD

Oh yeah. Not of the good here.

Hee! And shhh! Yes, it's all moving towards a Pyramus and Thisbe moment, isn't it?
Have you caught the recent noise about torture being discussed on Buffy Forums? The whole discussion greatly influenced me when writing this. Buffy's conviction at the beginning that forcing the truth magically was somehow better than forcing it through physical abuse, Faith calling her on it, her discomfort and then rationalization that they didn't have time to do it any other way. And then of course, this is offset by the reveal at the end. And I'm left wondering - do people think Buffy went too far and pushed the Decoy over the edge or did she not go far enough to get the truth?
Heh. I doubt it will be thought about this the way as I've done. Layers, right? I just thought you might have caught it because you're very good at divining these sorts of things.

*shrugs* It was Faith who hit the Decoy.
As to the Truth Spell, I don't get it. Did it work? Did the Decoy changed her mind after the spell stopped working? Or The Immortal had somehow made the Decoy immune to the spell?

Hee! I don't think you'll have to worry on this score. ;)

Is a police officer restraining a suspect for questioning considered torture? Plus punching a Slayer is kinda the equivalent of pinching a normal person. A slap to the face almost.
I was trying to play with the idea that also equates Tara's memory being violated by Willow as rape. Forcing the truth out of someone, their inner truth, violating their right to privacy - forcing confessions can be just as emotionally painful as physical torture. Mental and emotional betrayal. That there are different forms of torture than just breaking out the blades. Angelus would appreciate it - stripping away a Decoy girl's only secrets when she's already been forced to abandon and forget her own identity. It's the final step in violating the Decoy as a person - "What you want doesn't matter."
