Well, this is definitely better than the "A&F" comics ever could hope to be! (But then, i sometimes think that "A&F" is a worthy successor of "AtS" in comics form: All the horrible stuff from AtS blown up to "epic" proportions - which means: Cartoon-ish male power fantasies.)

(I think AtS did a decent job of showing the grey, of really undercutting those male power fantasies -- like, there's a self-awarenss in AtS that I find utterly lacking in A&F, which is what really bothers me.)

Sometimes AtS has that self awareness. Other times: Not so much (hello, fate-of-every-single-female-character?!). But yes, there's a difference. It's why i said that "A&F" is the horrible aspects (and not the better aspects) blown up to eleventeen. It really bothers me that the female characters in "A&F" are all used to show Angel-is-the-bestest - because it does two things at once. It, well, says Angel-is-the-bestest, as well as "There’s no point in trying to use reason when they’re behaving irrationally. It’s best to let them make their mistakes, get it out of their system, then force them to see it your way.”

Le sigh.

Willow is grateful, for her darkness was, well, not exactly grave, but heinously characterized. Her gratitude pouring out of every porous fibery molecule of her being, she violates her magical totem, the Scythe, in order to feed Angel’s nipple a piece of Giles’ soul. Like breastfeeding only in reverse, and also stupid.

Please tell me your kidding. PLEASE tell me you're making this up, I beg you.

Not even a little bit joking, unfortunately. That line right there? Is one of the least exaggerated lines in the entire fic. I'm mostly just describing what happened, tbh.

Haha, it's a catchy song! And I like it too. :D Just, I dunno, it's so repetitive that it mostly makes me think of pop music hell in terms of worthy mockery targets. (I also couldn't resist making fun of Spike's history with robots...)
