comics chatty (non-buffyverse! shocking, I know)
My urge to read ALL THE THINGS is re-awakening, and I've decided I want to venture forth into reading more comics besides my Buffyverse monthlies and the occasional X-Men issue. I'm planning on hunting down library copies of some of these works, simply because I price-shopped on Amazon and I'm pretty sure dropping a few hundred dollars on comics is not the best investment. I'm also not interested in reading comics digitally, especially when it comes to such a visually-based medium, so I gotta get my hands on these babies without breaking my bank.
I've listed a few titles that I've been meaning to read for forever and a day, but I'm actually gonna get myself together and do it. Let's talk comics, y'all. Tell me all about your favorites (in a vague-ish, non-spoiler-y way!) and what you'd recommend pour moi. Or warn me away from the comics you think I'd HATE with the passion of a thousand suns.

D'oh! I forgot to include Marjane Satrapi's Persepolis in my poll. *headdesks* And on that note, if anyone has recommendations for comics that feature strong female characters, I'm always interested.
Oh, and I'm not interested in reading Bill Willingham's Fables. I know it's supposed to be amazing. I just... don't care.
