I'm pretty sure someone confirmed this in the audio commentary. I'd have to either re-watch or dig up a transcript to be sure.

People say he sounded like he was joking, though. And since the audio commentary came out, Joss has still denied it in interviews like the one I quoted and linked to. So...

I haven't actually listened to the audio commentary though so if you wanted to dig up the deets, I'd appreciate it. :)

It didn't sound like a joke to me. It sounded like an off-the-cuff random detail. Someone looked at the screen and thought, "Oh yeah, I can talk about that." I'll have to give it another go, but in the morning. It's almost 1:00 a.m. here.

Okay, just rewatched with audio commentary. I'm pretty sure it was Neil that brought it up; it definitely didn't sound like Joss' voice. The original remark sounds like it could be the honest truth. Much like I described above, he sees her on screen, he mentions it.

Though the other cast/crew responses do seem like they could be sarcasm, but then again maybe not. (Or am I just clinging to my denial now?)

The thing that gets me: Why bring her up at all? It seems like a long way to go for a joke.

Mo?: Yeah!

*chuckles*

Joss/Jed??: That's right, I forgot about that rumor. (He stressed rumor. In a way that makes me think he was telling them to shut up about that. But again, I could be clinging to denial.)

Mo?: She came in, just for the day.

Male someone: Just for the day.

Mo?: And hung out. She was a trooper.

*murmurs of assent*

Jed??: She always wants to be involved in internet stuff. (Potnetial sarcasm.)

Felicia: That was a five foot drop. (Referring to something else. Cast moves on.)

Awesome. Yeah, it definitely sounds like Neil just brought her up 'cause it's true, then Joss was like "hey guys this is an unfounded rumor AHEM" and his brother Jed caught on 'cause they're bros and he backed him up with sarcasm.
