That was intense - took me back to acting class :)

“Knew you were coming. The greatest hunter of all. So glorious in battle the gods raised you up into the heavens.”

She frowned. “I don’t believe in destiny.”

...

“It’s not me,” she denied...“I’m not some cold, distant stars.” She raised his hand to touch her cheek, leaning in to his touch. “I’m not out of reach.” She kissed his palm. “I’m just… Buffy.”

“Beg to differ, love.” He leaned in close. “You’re more than just anything.”

The setting is magical. The end was very swoon-worthy, even heart-stopping. But this? Made me so very, very happy. No destiny, no god-powers. Just Buffy, being Buffy, and Spike loving her for it. Thank you!
