My Dad is in the hospital. Again. He went in on Tuesday..came home yesterday morning and went right back in last night.
He got this awful nose bleed that laster over 4 hours and went through 3 large bath towels. It was at this time after all the blood loss he decided to tell my mom who was sleeping that her should go to ER.
The doctors determined he had incredibly high blood pressure. High heart rate with an arrythmia. A weakened and enlarged heart, and possible blockages in his heart.
He was having chest pain 6 months ago but do to a mix up at the cardiologist he never went in to his appointment. He is stubborn and makes me so ANGRY.
They sent home home yesterday with an appt. with an ENT doctor and Cardiologist for a stress test. They also put him on blood thinners and BP medicine. This is a country hospital btw..they let him go home when his blood pressure was like out of the roof again it was 100 and something over 100 something. Not good.
He and mom were at a restaurant eating food...and his nose gushes again. This time so bad that while he is in the ER he begins to choke..on his own blood. They put some ballon thing in his nose to stop the bleeding. My mom, freaked out at all the blood. She then decided to call and tell us he was back in the hospital.
So this afternoon, he is going to have his nose cauterized to stop the bleeding, and also checked out so they can see whats causing this type of massive bleeding.
He is also getting more heart tests and its possible he will have some type of surgery and or procedure done where they stop his heart i guess and re-start it so it has a normla rythm. But if he has blockages too..who knows what else. His heart is already weak, this type of procedure scares me.
So, my sister and i are going to drive down there..my mom has no family, no one to help, and we need to step in. Not to mention, we need to be there because our dad...well i think he needs us too.
