Friday at work was hella busy, but they let us go early, as they usually do on the Friday before a long weekend. I used the extra time to go to the gym, even though I kinda wanted to just get my nails done because I was feeling so tense from work. I didn't have a whole lot of time to spare so I just did a 45 minute work out and headed home. Tara's engagement party was 7-11 at the Forest Hill Lodge and it was open bar. After that, we went to the Blackthorn until last call, then grabbed some cheap beers and continued the party in the bar in her basement until 5:30a.m. It was very Sunset Irish. I had a lot of fun, but drank entirely too much. I was feeling pretty awful yesterday. I felt mostly okay at my cousin's graduation party (I guess sitting and eating is comfortable!) but when I left there, I started to feel awful. At the end of the party, my mom had asked me what I want for my birthday and I told her I've been looking for an ottoman for the living room that doubles as a storage space. She suggested we just go out shopping right then. Anyway, we went to a couple of places and found something perfect at Bed Bath and Beyond. My sister is moving back soon and will be taking most of her furniture back when she and Richard find a place, so in the next few months I need to amass some furniture. Not only that, but we have storage space in the basement, so I can put some of her stuff aside if I get my own first. So the 5 piece ottoman set is one fairly big sized one and four smaller ones and they all double as storage units. The bigger one is a cushion on one side and a coffee table surface on the other, so I am primarily using it as a coffee table and using 2 of the 4 ottomans to extend it (visually) and the other 2 are set up with the arm chair and rocking chair. I'm really happy with it. I have people stay over so much that I never get around to putting the blankets away, so this will be much easier and I won't get in the trap of filling an entire seat with a stack of blankets. Plus, the ottomans can double as seats.

And here's mom using one of the smaller ottomans.

Now it's a beautiful sunny day on a 3 day weekend and I'm looking to get out of the house.
