I watched Swan Lake on PBS last night.
I had forgotten that even though Bach is my favorite composer to play, Tchaikovsky is my favorite composer over all. I just love his music.
I don't know what the prince's manservant was packing, but he had a frickin HUGE codpiece. Then again, he was Latino...
The girl who played the lead was amazing. She managed to channel a very bird-like quality into her dancing. She even managed two different personalities of bird for Odette and Odile - the white and black swans. Though what does it say about a prince who falls in love with a swan? Seriously.
The ballet made me think about if I could channel an animal-like quality into my dancing, perhaps a crane or a cat or a lizard. Perhaps I should look at Native American dance rituals.
