As promised this is my entry about my two weeks with Brian in DC and Houston. I'm sorry if I bore you but whatever, don't read it then.

So, on Friday after FYDP (Business School shizz) I went to the airport to meet Brian. It was really great to meet him at the gate, I love doing that. We came back, talked to people for a bit and then ordered our traditional gyro pizza. Over the course of the week we did a lot of momument walking (FDR, Jefferson, Washington, Lincoln, WWII), went to UMaryland for flute business, went to Chinatown, went to classes, I took my 4 midterms, blah blah blah.

Best thing we did = Saw George Carlin in concert! It was freking amazing. He is so funny and crude but brilliant. That was a good time. We ate some damn good food in DC too. We wanted to go to the District Chophouse... but it was too packed. Next time we're in DC we have to go because it's amazing but yeah... sorry about that Brian.

I really don't know what else to write about Brian's visit to DC. I had an amazing time because my Boyfriend is amazing. It was great just to have him around. I miss him a lot...

Anyway, then we went to Houston. It was interesting to say the least. An eye opening experience in many ways. I realized I am in a nice little Northeast bubble. I've also realized that I love this bubble and will do everything in my power to stay in it because it's awesome.

We flew down on Saturday. We get in a cab at the airport to go to Rice. The cab driver... so Texan. At one point there was debris on the road and he goes... DAMN! (in a southern accent). It was funny to me and my New Yorker self. Anyway, after my adventure on the Houston Taxi cab we arrive at Rice.

At Rice I walk into Brian's dorm, drop off the stuff and get the $3 tour from Brain. Rice is really pretty. The buildings are built beautifully and the've got some pretty amazing quads. Very grassy. Brian and I just chilled that night, we went to a wings place for dinner and then went back to his room.

The next day we got up and went to Rice village which is a cute little place with shopping and shiz. Then I got to meet his roommates and an ass load of other people. Long story short I know how to ruin good things and I got really upset and yeah. I eventually got over myself and got accustomed to his life there. It was hard at first because I felt like such an outsider but the people there are really nice and in no time I felt welcome.

Rice is so different. It's small. It's kinda in Houston but it's kinda separate. I've learned that I like being kinda smack in the middle of a city instead of on the outside (like Rice is). Brian's dorm is so different... maybe that's just because I live in Pelham but whatever, that took some getting used to. Brian lives in a quad which means there are people always stopping by. I feel like things are just more open down there, maybe a little bit more friendly even. I don't know, maybe I'm just being stupid because I live in a single and am very secluded.

I've lost my train of thought so I'm going to start talking about whatever I want now. Dining hall food is fucking amazing! Even if it's bad dining hall food... it's amazing. I had a sandwitch, salad, fruit, veggies, and meats. It was CRAZY GOOD! I loved it so much. God damn I wish we had a dining hall! I wish I didn't have to eat lean cuisines. Grr, but that was pretty sweet.

Brian is amazing and surprised my with tickets to the Houston Ballet. They preformed Romeo & Juliet. It was amazing. I have the best boyfriend ever. It was such a good time... I loved it.

So here's a list of everything I've learned about Houston:

1. Everything really is bigger in Texas! I've seen some grade A fat asses, people just grow larger there I don't know! The mall there... the biggest thing I've ever seen, had every store imaginable.
2. Korean kids from St. Louis = Brian's gay lover = funny, all around nice kid. I'm really glad Brian found some good friends at Rice, it makes me happy to know that he's happy.
3. Kids at Rice = nerdy.
4. OMG! Rice has this rediculous statistic where 90% of undergrads end up meeting their future spouse there and get married. The first two days I was there I saw two Bridal Parties at Rice taking pictures. Of course Brian has to go to the I'll fall in love and marry you forever school, I just go to the I'm really drunk let's fuck school. Damnit!
5. Houston is a nice city... but it has NO metro system. Yes they have sketchy busses but no one rides those. They have a metro but it's very underdeveloped. You need a car if you want to get around... and that sucks.
6. People really do listen to country music. One night Felix (one of Brian's roommates) and his other Texan friends were like rocking out to serious country music. I almost died.
7. Rice is hard. But I learned how to do a Matrix with 3 unknowns in DiffEq!
8. Rodeo's really happen and people really go to them.
9. Rice kids drink a lot. They play beer golf and do beer bike and yeah. It's a school for smart, nerdy, drunken people.

I know I'm prob. forgetting billions of things but I don't know. I should probably do some work before class tomorrow. Only 45 days 'til classes are over and then 57 until I can see Brian again (starting monday). Make it go fast, because I can' take much more.

To sum up this entry: I love Brian and miss him like crazy!
