Cold and tired, Isabel wanted a hot shower and her bed. But before she could rest, she had to be sure. Which was why she was knocking on Sam's door after coming back from the preserve.

Jack was rumpled, his hair was mussed, he was vaguely irritated at the interruption, but he wasn't going to stop smiling any time soon.

He pulled open the door, saw Izzy, and instantly pulled her into a bear hug.

"Thank you, Isabel." He let her go enough to kiss her, just quickly, then hugged her again. "And you're okay? Not hurt?"

"Just tired and cold. I'm going to take a shower and go to bed." But first she'd just hold on for a moment more. "As interesting as it was to share space with you today, I like this more."

"And thank you for that, too." He hugged her close one more time, then wrapped his hands around her shoulders, stepping back. "Go take care of yourself, Isabel. We can talk tomorrow."

"Definitely," Isabel nodded. "Sleep well." She kissed his cheek, smiled happily and left.
