215: Sunday Night

The TV was on, there was a cup of tea sitting next to the plant, and Jack was lazing on his bed, flipping through some pages he'd printed off the internet.

The door was partly open, and he was currently wondering if All and Sundries would order furniture.

Jaye's back at the dorms and in her room for about twenty minutes before she decides she doesn't want to be there right now. Instead, she heads down to the second floor, and knocks on the door. "Boo," she greets him.

"Jaye!" Jack smiled as he looked up, and patted the bed in front of him. "Come in, grab a seat, tell me why you weren't around for me to dance with on Friday."

Jaye comes inside, closing the door behind her most of the way. "I went back home for the weekend," she says, taking the offered seat. "Amazingly, I didn't need to call for rescue."

Jack studied her, then grabbed the remote control and flicked the TV off. "You had a good time this time?" he asked. "Because you missed out on a very good time on Friday."

"The end got a little tricky there, but it didn't suck. So what happened Friday and why don't I have photographic evidence?"

"I'm glad it didn't suck," Jack replied, laughing a little. "You could have called if it did, though. And you missed out on a minor party at the Devil's Nest - a nightclub that's apparently always been here, and why didn't anyone tell me earlier - and dancing with yours truly. As for why there's no photos?" He reached out and poked her leg gently. "I think that's because you weren't there."

"I'm going to have to assign someone to do that while I'm gone. Send Rory or Buffy around with a camera so I don't miss anything," she says. "...We have a nightclub?"

"That's not a bad idea, but I'd much rather have you here. And we do," he said, sounding very pleased at the fact. "With loud music, bright lights, a bar and a dance floor."

"See, the problem is, having a bar and a dance floor will get embarrassing really really quickly," she points out, thinking this is pretty obvious.

"Not if you're dancing with me." Jack looked distinctly smug. "And if we're out on the dance floor, you can get a much closer look at the people who are embarrassing themselves. It's a perfect plan."

"Okay, I was just convinced way too easily," Jaye says, because with that kind of sell... "I think I'm getting transparent."

Jack had to laugh. "Not really, I just pay attention to people I like. And you never tried to hide your..." He paused, looking for just the right words. "Affection for the indiscretions of others, at least not from me."

Jaye smiles. "So I have a small collection of other people's embarrassing moments? Though to be fair, I haven't looked at it in a while."

"Yeah, that about sums it up." Jack smiled back at her. "Losing interest?" he asked. "Or have you just been too busy?"

"I think I verged into the boykissy for entertainment side of things," she says honestly.

[anextimeagent]

"It is entertaining. And fun, too." Jack winked at her, smirking just a little, then cocked his head. "Is the novelty wearing off? Does this mean you won't be organising another boykissy night? Because I was kind of looking forward to kissing Alec again."
