Tight Rope

It's been awhile since I've posted. I probably haven't done much worth writing about since the last post. Other than the usual violence and debauchery, of course.

Through yesterday's insanity at work, I got a chance to have a quiet moment on the ride home. Quiet moments get me thinking. And yesterday got me thinking about balance.

Sunday got me quite irritated (sorry Josh!). There are so many complicated issues that we deal with, either directly or abstractly. Particularly in America, as Christians, First World Dwellers, etc. It is very easy to take sides. To fight for something we believe in, so to speak. The more complicated the issue, the easier is it to take sides. And I think that is a very dangerous thing to do.

I feel constantly compelled to think/talk/act through these issues with the goal of finding the balance between the two sides. I think that is the most important task. And the hardest thing to do. Unfortunately, that often looks like the devil's advocate, constantly arguing the opposite. But its the balance that is the goal. The good part of each argument. The bridge.

Ah, so ambiguous. Apply how you will. I've been thinking about money, social action, gentrification, the emotional vs. the rational.

The rational...

Just to talk about it, we are taking the rational side, I think...
