Who: Anew, Zoe, Kira, Setsuna, Lyle... and... I think that's all the important people.
What: Just fun times really, hostage taking, shooting people, etc.
When: Immediately prior to the start of Shrike and Falcon
Where: Someplace quiet where nobody will hear the screams, at least at first

Thankful for a relatively quiet day off, Zoe made her way to the hangar to meet with Anew. Seeing her, she rose a hand and waved, smiling. "Hey. Hard at work as always I see."

"I like to stay busy," Anew answered. "And after we helped the SRX team develop replacement machines I thought you would be a perfect partner for my newest project."

Anew handed Zoe design plans for a new Gundam, one very similar to the Freedom. "I was able to get these designs from ZAFT prior to us cutting our ties with them... would this be something you'd be interested in?"

Kira arrived, having gotten Anew's message. He caught a glimpse of the plans as he walked past Zoe, "That looks a lot like the Freedom. Is that what you wanted to talk to me about?" He asked, mostly for clarification since it was pretty obviously the case.

"Yes," she answered. "The original Freedom was meant to simply be the prototype for the completed model. Though our alliance with ZAFT is over, I was able to request it when we were still allied with them. The apparently decided to part with the designs, seeing as how it can't do any harm unless it has a nuclear reactor and an N-Jammer Canceler."

For a split-second, Anew almost seemed to lose track of herself, and she bowed her head down as she gave an embarrassed sigh.

"I'm sorry... for a second there I'm afraid something came over me. I hope you'll understand..."

And with that Anew pulled out a gun from seemingly nowhere, pointing it straight at Zoe's head. "But something's come up. Something I've forgotten for a very, very long time."

Taking the designs and looking them over, she smiled a bit more. "Huh. Interesting. I could do this, yeah." Looking up when Kira walked up, she nodded a little. "Anew says that they come straight from ZAFT."

Not noticing that Anew faltered, a sudden bad feeling rushed over her. That did not give her enough time to react before she felt cold metal pressed against her forehead. Staring straight into Anew's eyes, her own were wide. She froze, not able to talk or move.

Kira's eyes thinned at the appearance of the gun. But doing something could get Zoe shot in the head. He instead just looks at her and prepares to do... something if he can. "What do you want?" He asks, more as an attempted distraction than anything. Keeping her talking keeps her not shooting after all.

"To be perfectly honest with you, I feel I should apologize," Anew said to Zoe as her finger started to pull the trigger back. For the moment she had completely ignored Kira. Mainly because she knew even the Ultimate Coordinator couldn't get to her in time before someone died. "If I hadn't invited you here when I wasn't myself... I wouldn't have had to do this."

And with that she fired.

Kira's SEED factor kicked in. He realized he had no chance of stopping Anew from firing the bullet so instead he did the next best thing, shove Zoe out of the way.

He was just in time to protect Zoe but unfortunately he felt the bullet graze his arm...

He realized to late exactly what kind of bullet this mus be. His body was shocked out of his SEED and the sudden shock of that froze him up momentarily.

His momentum didn't stop however and he fell forward knocking both him and Zoe to the ground.

Watching as her finger slowly pulled back the trigger, Zoe closed her eyes tightly; she wondered if she would even feel the bullet. Her body suddenly being pushed into motion, she instinctively cried out, feeling herself shift then a heavy weight topple her over.

Opening her eyes, she saw his head resting on her shoulder, feeling a bit disconnected. Hand absently resting where he was shot, she felt her palm become wet, drawing it away and seeing blood. Everything dawned on her at once.

"KIRAAAAA!"

"Now, now..." Anew scolds Zoe as she feels the cold barrel of Anew's pistol against her forehead. "There's no use crying when he's still alive. Unfortunately Kira's going to have a slow and painful death to look forward to in the coming weeks... but Kira's a big boy and he can handle it."

She pulled Zoe up, keeping the gun trained on her head at all times.

"Ribbons has no need for damaged goods, even the Ultimate Coordinator. But I owe it to him to not come back empty-handed, and a Psychodriver's better than nothing. Wouldn't you agree, Zoe?"
