December totals were pretty abysmal, bike 36 miles, run 55.35 miles.
2008 totals: Bike 86 hours (1416 miles), Run 74 hours (355.5 miles), swim 22 hours (39470 yd). There were a few hours of elliptical and core training also due to not being able to run for the first few months.
I guess the "good" is that I can say I did an average of at least 30 min per day of SOMETHING.
the "bad" is that I spent most of the year feeling like crap, gaining weight and battling insomnia. It is so bad that I've missed 3 Sundays in a row of the supported long runs. Finally got in to see Dr. Romy but the lab she called my prescriptions into says they don't have them. I sure hope I'm not in for another situation like with Dr. Wiseman's clinic.. at least I'll be getting back on Armour Thyroid, and am hoping that will help me drop a few pounds before I tackle my very first Marathon...
Managed to more or less start off the new year well:
1/1 - trainer workout at Catherine's - 10 miles
1/2 - run, 3 miles
1/4 - run, 17.3 miles (A new record -- my previous Longest Run was 15 miles and that was two years ago)
so I think I'll be able to "survive" the 20 miler on Sunday. It won't be pretty, fun or painless but at least I can quit losing sleep over THAT. The 3M Half Marathon will seem like a piece of cake after THAT distance..
I've got a new "team" affiliation - although I am not officially training "with" them, I did help support them last year during their first year of triathlon, and might show up at some events this year wearing their jersey:
Veterans for Sarcoma.
