So it's been like, 2 months since I last updated my LJ...I kinda suck.
Lots of stuff (and yet not too much) went on this second half of the semester.
Diane & Robert did a good job in The Little Shop of Horrors. I was pretty proud of them!
Working as VP of STD sucked because the officers ran the entire thing...so that really wore me out. I had NO free time this past semester. I'm sooo glad I'm Student Teaching this semester so I won't have to be VP anymore.
I took the Praxis II in November and just got my scores back. I need to retake the essay portion because I missed it by 5 points. There goes another $100 bucks. :-(
Went to New York City with the family for Thanksgiving vacation. Twas a good time! Aside from the night of gorging ourselves with the family, Robert, Diane & I spent a lot of time wandering the streets by ourselves. We went out for [real] Chinese food, watched the Macy's Day parade ballons get blown up, spent hours in the Museum of Natural History, visited Ground Zero, walked Broadway, and even got lost in Harlem. Oh yes, twas a good time.
Gamma & John, who could hardly hear or see the performance, spent hundreds of dollars taking us to see the NY Philharmonic. It was pretty awesome. We kids spent some quality time playing Scrabble with my Uncle Grant (man, I suck at that game), and we went to the Bronx Zoo on our last day there.
After my dad dropped me from his housing plans, I finally found a place in Manchester on Hanover St. (pimp location, for those of you who don't know!). My room is kinda small, but the price is right, there's a jacuzzi in my bathroom, and the house looks like something out of Better Homes & Gardens!
Finals week sucked.
Jared came up from Utah and the Friday after finals was spent having a HUGE feast followed by a Hawaiian Christmas party where we all got our drink on! The night rocked except....SOMEONE STOLE MY HAM!
Two nights after the party, I went next door for 15 min, only to come back to find that someone had come into my apt, stolen my 9 lbs spiral ham, a giant bag of cornbread muffins, and a plate of baked potatoes. Bastards! I asked all my friends who were at the dinner, and no one had any clue where my ham went. It kinda sucked cuz it was gonna be my food for the rest of the week, but I made due. I was highly disappointed, tho. I love ham. :-(
My Dad, Bob & Spanky, and myJoe all helped me move my stuff to my apartment and my furniture to my dad's. I have way too much shit. It's a good thing my dad felt guilty about not letting me live with him, or else I would have had to get a rental space. Phew!
Doctors yelled at me for not drinking milk. I hate milk. And it hates me.
From the beginning of my holiday vacation until early January when Joe went back to school, I spent nearly every day (and night) with him. And it was awesome. Why can't I grow up faster and finally move in with him and live happily ever after?!? What the hell!
I'm currently calling up places in Boston for jobs so I can work down there this summer with myJoe while he finishes up his final semester at Ai. Woo-hoo!
Went to Joe's family party and he went to mine. Diane's boyfriend, Joel, came too, and I think (to the cousins, at least) he made myJoe look better. :-)
Joe came to my Christmas Eve dinner and after we all watched Polar Express. The kids ABSOLUTELY loved him! And his name. "Joe" is such an easy name to say.
Merry Christmas to everyone who's still reading this! (Note: I write more for my sake than anything...my life isn't THAT exciting) I woke up at home, opened presents, went to Joe's brother's house, ate Chinese food, opened presents, went to my Dad's house, ate dinner, opened presents, then went back home to see Uncle Grant who had just arrived, opened more presents and then played more Scrabble with him (I still suck).
It was a busy Christmas but a damn good one. And I'm so glad I got to spend it with myJoe at least for a little while. We're gonna have to start working out actual plans like that starting this coming year, I think!
On Boxing Day (AKA - the day after Christmas), I got to see Joselyn! We went out with the family to see the Narnia movie, and then she and I broke away to the Mall of NH, Bertucci's, and the Strange Brew Tavern later on that night. She slept over than night, and when I brought her back, I traded her in for myJoe once again.
I left him for New Years this year :-( because I was invited to Maryland to ring in 2006 with my cousins, aunt, etc. Although I was only there from Fri-Sun, it was a kickass time. A bunch of other cousins and friends joined, and I was given a tour of Annapolis, played hide-and-seek in the pitch black basement for HOURS, and learned some new fun drinking games New Years Eve! On my final day there, my cousin took me out to go shopping and spent over $300 buying killer outfits for me for my student teaching (did I mention they're pretty loaded?). It was an awesome time...and I had a blast hanging out with them!
Kaffee & Brenden came over on the 3rd to bar hop with me down Elm St. Kaffee and I rock at playing pool. (NOTE: sarcastic remark)
My transfer from the Plymouth WalMart to the one on So. Willow St. finally went through. I'm now working there as a cashier. I get paid $.50 less than I did before (which sucks), but at least I'm not slicing meat. The job's still monotonous, but I'll survive.
Went to Walka's with myJoe last Friday for some drinks at the Walka bar. Needless to say myJoe got trashed, but he was good amusement. I actually got pulled over on the way back to Manchester because my engine was too loud (again). No, Officer, I dont' understand why the previous owner would make the muffler louder, either...No, it's not broken...
It's kinda funny...he actually asked me if we had been drinking, and without thinking about it, I said "Yes, we both have." (Keep in mind, myJoe is NOT 21 yet!) Thankfully, the officer only asked me if I was okay to drive, I said yes, and then he let me go!!!
After I rolled up the window, Joe just looked at me and said, "You have the biggest balls for saying that!"
So yeah,
that's me.
My pre-ST homework has begun. Currently reading The Outsiders and The Pearl to create lesson plans. Not too shabby.
Walka came up to Manchester this past Tues for a meeting and I took him out to the Strange Brew for some drinks afterward. As I was walking him out, I met up with both Anthony Cormier and Dave! Man, it was a weird night! So I went to bed much later than I'd planned on, but I got to chat with three long-time-no-see friends in one night! Not too shabby!
This brings me to the present. I worked 8am-5pm. I am tired.
Leaving for Boston tomorrow after work to celebrate myJoe's turning 21.
It's all downhill from here, folks!
* hugs & kisses to everyone! *
