I'm back from Trinidad! Highlights:
- I had a really nice time, it was really relaxing.
- Was great to see my mum & dad, and my niece Grace of course! At 19 months she's a handful, but she's walking and talking and such a joy most of the time. I'll really miss her.
- Saw several family members I haven't seen in 15 years, which was really great. Also saw Judy, my former nanny (she started working for my parents a few days before I was born and was with our family until we moved to the States.) Judy was the most important figure in my life for my very early childhood so she's really special to me and vice versa, and it was so wonderful to see her again!
- Only went to the beach once- fun, but got carsick on the really winding roads on the way! Need to go prepared with medication next time :P
- Most of you know that I had a birthday while I was there and am now 26 years old. My parents got me a Nook e-reader for my birthday (basically like a Kindle with some extra features) and I LOVE it. And was totally surprised since I wasn't expecting a gift at all after they paid for my trip!
- Went to see Harry Potter 7 Part 1 on Sunday with my cousin Zulema (my closest cousin in age, at 1 year younger than me) which was great fun.
- And last but not least, the food. Oh my god, the food. We had loads of yummy Trini things and I ate rather a lot. Don't regret it, it was all amazing!
Got back safely Monday afternoon, and have been trying to re-adjust to life in the UK since- first of all, it's too cold. Ugh. Mood wise I'm doing okay- not very depressed, but high levels of anxiety which I think is just from the shock of being back and trying to sort out work. Went to see my GP yesterday and am trying to reach my boss so I can talk to him about setting up an occupational health appointment. Fingers crossed he'll agree to my plan, which involves going back to work on a phased return on Monday. We'll see.
My private psychiatrist appointment is this evening, should be interesting to say the least. And that's all I'll say about that!
Right, that's me done, time to go play on the computer (yes, I gave in and got Cataclysm yesterday after not playing WoW for months. Currently having fun with a worgen hunter!)
