duuuraaaan duraaaannnnnn

Well, I know the Duran Duran concert was...way back in Feb. 20th. But it's a lonely Saturday night and I did everything I could possibly think of to do on a lonely Saturday night so time to write about the Duran Duran concert. :|

I am a dork. :|
So, I'm wearing- Jeans, hoodie, white blouse, converse, and some makeup (aka eyeliner and mascara, pic will be taken later to show y'all how much of an idiot I looked like :|) and I go with a relative. The show starts at 8pm and I get to Toyata Center at 8:03pm and I was thinkg, "If I miss Duran Duran, I will jump on their bus." We get in and I found that we have good seats. And I found out we didn't miss Duran Duran, we were waching a band called Clear Static. They're not local. They were pretty cool, they got the crowd started. Once they left Duran Duran toooook foooreeeeeveeeerrr to get on stage. They got on stage at 9pm. :|.
So, before Duran Duran got on stage, I was looking around and goddamn. I saw a shitload of white people. No, in fact, that's all I saw. White people. And I hardly saw people around my age. :|. I saw this white dude who winked at me. Yech. Anyways, it finally got dark and everyone stood up and went crazy. I felt the tense. I felt like I was back in the 80s because I was going to see the original line up. Simon LeBon, Nick Rhodes, Andy Taylor, John Taylor, and Roger Taylor (and for the record, the Taylors are NOT related.)
Here they come! Down the stage and everyone just went insane. I kept screaming, "I LOVE YOU DURAN DURAN!!" They we're all in like half a circle. From left to right- John, Roger, Simon, Andy, and Nick. And they were just staring down. Roger left to his drums, Nick went to his keyboards, Andy went to his guitar, John went to his bass guitar and Simon just stood there. Just in the middle. In the mic in front of him. He grabbed the mic and sang, "The music between us." He was singing "(Reach Up for the) Sunrise" with the little remix. Good lord, it was crazy, when they got to the chorus part,
"Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day into your life"
everyone (and I do mean everyone) did put their arms up and started jumping and singing that part (yes, including me ^_^) and then after that song was over it was "Hungry Like the Wolf" and I could tell Simon was so pumped. Haha, I still remember it so well.
After that, Simon talked. He said, "HOOOWDY HOOOUSTOON!" *crowd goes insane, Jess starts yelling "I LOVE YOU SIMON!"* Simon says, "Let's play 'Simon Says!' Hahah no. Wow, these people have so much energy! My god, this is going to be a fun show! Let's all go to Venezuala!" *silence* Simon says, "This is the part where your suppose to throw your head back and laugh like loonies." *everyone does so* Simon says, "Now! Onto our show!"
So they played, and if you watched Duran Duran on the Bailey Set, you'll notice a white big boobies lady singing for the background. When they were playing "Come Undone" I was expecting to see her but we didn't! It was a black lady! Le gasp! A black lady beat a white lady! =O! Anyway, she was better than that white chick.
It was fuuun, after Duran Duran played "Union of the Snake" Simon went out to change his clothes. First, he was wearing all black with a red shirt and black tie and then came out in all black without the suit jacket. While he was changing the sax player (because Duran Duran has a lot of songs on sax) and the band played some jazz music, played a few more songs and Duran Duran 'final' song was "The Reflex" and then they left.
So, we knew they were coming back, so me and a couple of dudes we're holding hands and yelling, "DURAN! DURAN DURAN DURAN DURAN! DUUUUUUUUUURAAAAAAAAAAN!" and then a few people joined and got drunk :|. Anyways, they came back on stage and sang, "Notorious" and it was insane. Why? Because Duran Duran put a few more words ^_^.
Now, we all know that song "We Are Family" that little part that we all know. Did Duran Duran do it? Oh yes they did! It got the audience up and going insane and start singing wild and dancing insane! Then they sang, "Girls On Film" and in the ending of the song they started introducing the band to everyone. Simon yells, "Everybody meet:
Roger Taylor! The madman behind the drums!
Andy Taylor! *John jumps behind Andy and sticks his tongue out* With his sunglasses!
John Taylor! The bass man who does nothing except scare people off!
Cutiiieeee boooy, Niiiick Rhoooodddeesssss!!
And me! Bon! Simon LeBon! Ahahaha!"
The final song was "Rio" and let me tell you, everyone literally went insane. Simon was dancing and twirling in the end and thought he broke his mic at one point. Everyone just whoa. I don't think I've never seen that many white people go insane. Oh and yeah, people threw bras and underwear at them. Hah. O.o. Anyway, if you have the un-edited version of the song, you should hear Simon go, "dododododododododododo" the ending of the song we went insane. Drunk people making out, everyone jumping and singing loud, everyone dancing, everyone doing random stuff, blah blah blah. It was sooooooo muuuuuuccch fuuuuuuuuuun. <33333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 x infinity to duran duran ^_^ (and rob if you read this, i still love you a bunch more than duran duran =P, same thing goes for vato and dana and maybe larry =P <3333)
When Duran Duran was taking their final bow, some lady threw her pantyhoes to Roger the drummer and he picked it up and shrugged and threw it back, heh. And then I got home around midnight and found out my voice was gone from all the screaming ^_^.
Overrall, it was a fuuuuuuuun concert, if Duran Duran comes back to the US, I am so going to see them again, hopefully, not with a relative that's 15 years older than I am ^_^.
