I'm still getting teary eyed! Though I don't think this was at all worth your precious tears it makes me besides myself with glee that you were moved so much. You're beautiful yourself (and you can't tell me otherwise after I saw a picture of you) did you know that? ♥
Heavens yes. I'm going to set it as my homepage! C:
ajkahjsd I'm so sorry for making you cry! B-but you're one the people who has always given me hope countless times , even if you don't know it, so I'm glad you were moved. ILU BB ♥
don't apologize!! it's good tears. and ... to hear you say that means so much to me. because you've been so amazing to me and given me so much hope with your wonderful words and being so caring. and if I could make you feel in any way the way you make me feel then ... <3
It touches my heart to know you hold in as a high a regard as I do you. It's like, minus the health problems, I can relate to you a lot as in growing up with having a less than desirable income and having a shitty dad. And I ramble BUT STILL thank you so much darling!
This 'every man for himself' mentality we're all sporting makes me endlessly sad.Perhaps I'm a cynic, but nine out of ten days I believe as Napoleon did: "Men are moved by two levers only: fear and self interest." We've seen too many examples of this to expect the contrary, even when our better selves wish that it is not true. It's so very hard to fight against the perpetual torrent of hate and indifference and ignorance we experience even in our sheltered, domestic lives; thus it's so very easy to adhere to those things instead. Kindness takes courage, and selflessness, because kindness takes effort. And let's face it - people aren't willing to put in the effort if they receive nothing in return besides moral vanity
( ... )
The evidence supporting Napoleons words is a practically a testament to how completely heartless mankind can be. It's so sickeningly easy to look away and pretend you didn't see. Hell, it's what I did. But at the same time while I can afford to sulk and feel guilty that man is till standing on that corner trying his hardest to support his family. And yet he isn't even bitter. If that's not true strength then I have no clue what is. But it really is shame, the greater part of society does act mostly in self interest in one way or another. And more often than not, moral vanity doesn't even constitute as a reward to most people. :/
That's true! I believe it's part of the reason we're so desperate to well, avoid it because it just seems that elusive. It's like pursuing happiness. As it stands our society is quick to dismiss a small amount of hope in favor if large doses of government ordered pessimism.
The quote is spectacular! I have this little white board and everyday (or at least every other day) I write a quote. Today I chose this

I believe in balance and that there is good to even out the not-so-good. I also believe that we should treat each other as how we would like to be treated.
When you spoke of looking away from the homeless man, I recalled how I sometimes ignore people on the train and refuse to give up my seat to those who need it more by pretending to be too wrapped up in my own world. And the one busker I ignored last week even though I walked past him twice. Today, I pledge that I'll give up my seat when I see someone who needs it more than I do. And I'll take time to enjoy a busker's performance before giving him something as thanks for his efforts to make our day brighter and encouragement to keep performing.
No need for massive campaigns or expensive movements. All we have to do is to take the first step. Free Hugs was started by just one guy, and people picked it up quickly. Do something nice and people will pass it on. Do something nice because as my teacher said, it feels good to do good
You can't even fathom how big of a smile is on my face right now. I never wanted to force anyone to do anything they didn't want to do so to hear you say you'll voluntarily work towards bettering society in such a way means you got it. The great thing about acts of kindness is that they're never forgotten. Sometimes you don't get a thank you and sometimes you might feel inclined to just let it be. But the remnants of what you did are never forgotten. Ever.
I'm happy you do! You don't have feel sorry about anything bb! It makes me glad you read this far and that you even found it beautiful. As a writer trying to make it through NaNoWriMo it really boosts my spirits! :)
