I've been remembering bits and pieces myself. I remember something being there before I lost my memory, but I'm not sure exactly what. What I don't understand is if they were so keen on us losing our memories, why bother letting us get them back? I don't trust them.

I don't know. That's just one of the things I don't get--and there's a lot of them.

I mean...why would they do that to us in the first place?

Who can say? For a laugh? I can't even begin to imagine their motivations, but I'm going to find out. I'm tired of dealing with creatures with inscrutable thought processes.

That's a pretty sick laugh, making us forget everything. And I'm pretty sure they have normal thought processes, or something like it, anyway--the guy who did it to me? He's usually pretty reasonable and stuff.

He helped me way before that, back home--he gave me a way to save my friends. I don't think that was using me. He just did that to help me!

It doesn't make sense that he'd just start using me now...

Maybe he was just making sure you owed him a favor. Or made you think he only had good intentions. Why would he just help you out for no good reason?

I don't know--because it didn't give him too much trouble to help me out? I just can't see him doing something like making sure I owed him.

You're assuming something with that sort of power thinks in the same way as humans. Maybe there's more to it than that.
