[Ken and his companion trade confused looks. Wormmon decides to finish the sentence.]

I'm Wormmon, Ken-chan's partner.

[Whatever it is, it talks. And Ken seems to consider this perfectly natural.]

Oh...oops. Sorry about that, Wormmon, Ken. It's nice to meet both of you! I'm Rosalia.

[Partner is kind of an odd description, though--partners for what? Rosalia looks around, wondering if she's missed something.]

Um, is everyone supposed to have a partner now...?

I don't think so. I - remembered Wormmon. And then he appeared.

[It is probably not humanly possible to look fonder of someone than Ken does of Wormmon right now.

And then he recalls something.]

..Rosalia-san? Then, the Christmas present outside our door...

Really? Oh, I'm glad that worked out for you, then! That's...huh?

[Oh yeah, the presents.]

Yup, that was me! Did you like it?

[He bows a little, smiling. What a relief. He'd been hoping to meet the giver; this saves him having to figure out how to find her himself.]

Wormmon had some, too...

[Wormmon blushes a little and scratches his cheek with one stubby leg, mumbling something that's probably a "thank you".]

Good! I'm glad you both got some. It wasn't much, but I thought everyone deserved a little something and I had a lot of fun making everything, too.

[Someone feels a little self-conscious he only sent cards to people he knows, now, nodding along as Wormmon asks him "aren't neighbors great, Ken-chan?"]

I'm sure everyone else appreciates it, too.

...I did, thanks. There's many people I've yet to meet, but--

[He hugs Wormmon a little tighter.]

I hope to deserve my place in a community this warm.

Of course you do! I can't see why you wouldn't. We're all in the same situation here, anyway.

[He'd just like to know he's done right by his life thus far. But until he's certain, he'll focus on the life he's living now.

Besides, Wormmon was always there. He can't have been too awful a person to deserve the loyalty of someone like Wormmon.
