[ACTION]

*Already the whole situation seems like some sort of a bad reality television show; he just shows up there with no memories, and is somehow expected to buy the idea that memories can be just extracted from little green jewels. And he's not even given any opportunity to verify this for himself personally, since they won't allow him to ( Read more... )

[Guess who runs into you while on a walk and manages to overhear you.]

There is a library not far from here. As well as a bookstore.

*A rather ornate dress on this woman, though the ears and the wings are a little unnecessary. Some sort of costuming thing? Eh, who's he to judge.*

Ah, thanks. I figure I should read up on this place and how things work if I'm going to be stuck here.

[Oh, just wait until you find out that the wings and ears are real.]

Were you not explained everything at the lab then?

Not in enough detail for me to think it's anything more than an elaborate hoax. They won't even let me see how this whole anemoi processing is supposed to work.

Hoax or not, as long as we bring in anemoi we do get memories back. I have been remembering things slowly but surely because of them.

I don't really like just being told "it works like this" and having to just take their word for it. I need to know specifics or else it's just superstition.

So what do you do about magic then? Are you so knowledgeable so that you are a genius mage?

Seriously? Magic is a huge superstition. It's just people claiming "things happen, tada" without bothering to get into the scientific principle of what's actually going on. It's ridiculous.

How do you explain this then?

[Rozalin chooses a target in the way of a trash can and fires a fireball at it. Lowest level of course, as she doesn't want to completely destroy the city.]

G-HA!

See? Magic is real. And if you do not wish for me to go into the specifics, there are books at the library on the subject.

That's -- well I mean -- there has to be a logical -- some sort of element that isn't -- it can't really be...

*That's odd. He doesn't just look shocked. He looks almost SHATTERED.*

[Oops. Didn't mean to do that to the poor kid.]

Are. Are you all right?

There's gotta -- I mean, certainly, these sorts of things can't really -- I...

...no. And I don't really know why.

I guess you do not come from a place where magic is common if it has surprised you this much.

S-sure. That has to be the reason. Still... there has to be some reason why you can do that, right? Some... I don't know, theories, or biological factors. Something like that.
