Since I don't write fics my self (why? Because I'm a crappy writer) I feel reccing is the best (and only?) way for me to engage in fannish activity. The thesis not withstanding.
So, there's a book I'd like to share with those of you who like slash and are OK with Anne Rice. It's called Cry to heaven. I've been reading it for light amusement, to get my mind off work and other such things. It has no vampires but pretty boys and smut. What a pleasant surpise in a work of mainstream literature. I mean the tales of the vampires sure where slashy too, but there was no don right male erotica in those if memory serves me right. It is a historical novel from 1500th century Venice and castarato singers. I know many are not fans with Anne Rice, especially the Vampires, but I think some of the other ones are worth a try. If there's one thing I think Rice is good wih, it's caracterisation. To me caracterisation pretty much either brakes or makes a good novel.
So if you are a slash enthusiast and you need an easy and amusing read, consider giving this a try.
