Ugh...Streaming Radio

May 05, 2009 01:07

I logged into Last.fm earlier this afternoon to listen to my library on Last.fm radio since I was too lazy to hook up my external hard drive and kick iTunes into gear. Imagine my surprise when I found out that I had "qualified for a free 30 track trial of Last.fm radio". Really? So, I got to listen to 30 songs before I received a notice saying that if I want more, I have to sign up for a paid subscription.

*grump*

So, I need to find a replacement. I know of Pandora, and I'm thinking of wiping my account and restarting from scratch with my stations, but it took so much effort to get them to the point that I was content (well, close enough to it) with the way they were that I'm reluctant to want to do it again. The stations, months and possibly a couple of years since I last logged in, aren't as they were (or maybe my tasted have just evolved?) so I need to put in that effort again. Besides, it doesn't have the scrobbling option that Last.fm does to help tailor itself to my tastes.

So other than Pandora, do you guys have any suggestions for me for a replacement?

EDIT: I forgot. I stopped using Pandora because they don't have proper licensing for anybody outside of the US, so I can't use it when I'm at home.
