noughties
This word is not a coy euphenism (yes, my first thoughts were along such lines). No, instead it is a reference to this decade, following "nineties". The term works, but why have I not come across it at all until, I swear, less than two weeks ago, and now find in all sorts of multiple unrelated places. Has the word just recently been coined? Or is everybody simply jumping on the bandwagon? And am I correct that it is prounced like the plural of naughty?
