I think I'd actually give ANYTHING to just magically be able to read Japanese right now. And by *anything*, I ain't fuckin' joking around. =(
I've got over a hundred dollars worth of doujins just sitting here untranslated and I've also managed to get my hands on the end of Fire Candy, which is of course not translated either. And all I can do is

It's funny, I really don't know more than a handful of spoken Japanese...

But I've been attempting to translate my books on my own, and what kills *me* is the grammar. XD I've collected enough resources to where I'm able to find the Kanji meanings and all the Hiragana/Katakana syllables, sokuon-- stuff like that. But when it comes to structuring the sentence in to something even half understandable... forget about it. The verbs absolutely kill me! *_* I'm positive I'd be able to do this stuff if I actually, ya know, went to school and learned it. But. That takes money. Ha...ha... ^_^;

LOL. I just find it a pain in the ass to look everything up; I could if I wanted, either online or using a kanji dictionary. But often I don't have the energy. :) Especially in a novel.

Lawl. If you give me the original Japanese text and scans, I can try - but I don't guarantee how accurate or wonderful I is be? But at least I can give you a generic idea. *shrugs* Also don't know how long it'll take me, but I'll try? XD

I was thinking it'd make things easier on you and less time-consuming if I were to give you the text, and also the translated Kanji? Then all you'd have to do is put the grammar in to action, you wouldn't even have to look anything up. ^_

Aha, yeah, forgot about doujinshi that you own. Was thinking of raws on your computer. *facepalm* I can try with the doujin - the thing about doujin is that so much is dependent on the pictures. If you could even take bad camera shots, that'd be fine; just to give me an idea of scenes & crap. Since, er, well... everything is basically speech bubbles with no description. =[

I'd prefer the kanji as I can look up text-kanji easier than kanji I have to look up by strokes & crap. There's so many different ways to pronounce one kanji that it's just easier for me if I can get it right myself than decode one that's wrong. =]

^_^! And let me know what these doujin are, because I have some too and we might get lucky and own the same ones for some of them. Most/all of mine are Naruto though.

Okay, this is what I'm gonna do---

I'm gonna make a post either later tonight or tomorrow with chapter 17 of Fire Candy. Under each individual page, I'll have the copy-able text for each dialog-bubble there so you can do with it what you need. Each bubble will be its own paragraph, to keep things semi-organized.

And we can see how that goes for ya. ^_^ I do believe I could run to your house right now and hug you until your eyes pop out. XD (And that's just for saying you'll take a whack at this, really! Even if it doesn't work out, I'm still super-pumped that you're even volunteering!!)

All of my doujins are from Naruto, too. Just one series. The ENTIRE collection of 'Tsubaki' by Senjyo-Yatai. Six books, lots of pages. If we get that far (crossing fingers right now!), I'll see about borrowing a digi-camera from someone so I can take pictures of all the pages for you. =D

Wellll, you're gonna like it. ^_~ Itachi-centric, Uchiha massacre A/R where he isn't the one who killed everyone. Featuring Itachi, Kakashi, and Sasuke as the main characters (with cameos from Orochimaru, Kabuto, Sarutobi, and Kurenai!). It's amazing. Hands down.

Fire Candy is... written by... well, a woman who's known for writing porn. >.> And this series does not stray from that line of thinking, but whatever. It may be chock-full of yaoi, het, drugs, angst, and violence-- but I'm in serious LOVE with all the characters and the idea behind the plot. *_* Too bad it ended so abruptly (I'm thinking she lost sponsorship on it or something /frown/).

I don't *think* there's any terminology other than 'fire candy' that'd be screwup-able in translating. Other than normal slang. /shrug/ Character names, maybe? I'll provide a list of character names with my post just in case. ^_^ ♥

Guttari shita [adj] describes onna no ko [noun], and kakaete would be the verb, so

The exhausted woman (the collapsed woman, the spent woman), and something to do with the verb of held. The verb, however, has been conjugated to suggest that there's something following that, or that the sentence ended without being finished, ie something more like

"The exhausted woman was carried..."

"Carrying the exhausted woman..."

With the expectation of something following that.

"Carrying the exhausted woman, he returned to her apartment".

... in my limited opinion.
