5 and 5 are good, no question. but whether compositionally perfect or not, the second one is immediately what comes to mind when i think of the subjects you're drawn to, and to your photographs as a whole - it's always been that sort of... not "rural ruins" exactly so much as a broken-down americana. :)
I know what you mean.. I feel like it's a cliche, but then I know I should shoot what I want to shoot and not worry about that stuff. I could go on, but I'd sound like a pretentious Art student... Oh, wait...

think about this though: it's only a cliche if you do what other people do. "broken-down americana" is no more a cliche than "nude figure", but how many hundreds of ways are there to photograph a nude figure? :)
this is me, laughing out loud in my apartment alone. :D
point being though, yes: not cliche. if there's something that attracts you, shoot it! if it ends up not being something you want to explore further, then so be it!

point being though, yes: not cliche. if there's something that attracts you, shoot it! if it ends up not being something you want to explore further, then so be it!
