Ok! Massive photo post here so I'm putting it behind a cut! There are images of all my projects from the three week silkscreening class:

Or what I like to call,

First is my final piece. For the print exchange project where we have to make an image for everyone in the class. We had to make an image based on this quote: "On really romantic evenings of self, I go salsa dancing with my confusion". I didn't want to be TOO literal like putting people salsa dancing or whatever... And I decided not to go with my dildo masturbation idea... Anyway, this is what I came up with. It's called "Betty":

These two are really bad slides of my poster project. We had to design and execute a poster that advertised an idea instead of a product. The pink one says "Don't Just Sit There" and the Blue one says, "Do Something.". Basically just a grid of poodles and probably my least favorite work from the class:

The next four are images of our wallpaper project. We had to design at least 12.5 feet of a pattern. I did 25 feet of this "Gothic Toile" so Ended up with roughly 55 square feet of it. I took a basic toile pattern and replaced the people's heads with skulls and put skeletal fish and birds int he background. The colors (as with a few of these slides) didn't really translate too well in the digital camera for some reason, but this is really purple and green:

This was our second project. It had to be at least three colors and one of those colors had to be a "fade". I did an astronaut chasing a chicken through space. Again, the colors aren't quite right here. I also did t-shirts with this on it, but only the outine and in one color. Also, this is hand drawn onto the screen as opposed to the next image. It's called "L'evasion":

I also tried this one with these colors:

This was our third assignment, I think... When we were introduced to photographic emulsion... Which is... Like... HEAVEN for me... I LOVE this stuff This is "Showcase Envy".

Here's a detail shot of that one:

Wow.. I really should have gone in order... ANYWAY, this was the very first assignment we had. A hand drawn project using at least 2 colors. I did a horse being airlifted. There's a very faint network of helicoptors behind it. It may be hard to see, though, on here. The horse is red on a grey background and the grid of helicoptors is a really transparent green. The title of this one is "La Delivrance":

OK. The rest of this work is all outside (extra) stuff. We were allowed to do as much as we wanted outside of class so I kinda went crazy. A few years ago I found a few old "fitness" magazines in an old house. The date from the 60s and are basically softcore porn in the disguise of "exercise". I could have made tons more of this stuff just from the one magazine that these came from and it's definitely something I'll keep working at, I think.

This was the first extra assignment I did... "Boys, Boys":

A close up:

After that, I did "Jr., Jr.":

And a close up from it:

Another one (like the poster project) that I didn't really end up liking all that much. Mainly because this one is really small"

When i was trying to make "Showcase Envy" above I mistakenly thought I needed to have a negative image to start out with. So in order to NOT waste time and emulsion, I made an extra project with this "mistake". "Negative Showcase":

detail:

I thought this ad was really funny:

Rod Bouer:

Detail of that one:

Teen wrestling duo:

This one was really funny to me, too. It's also small, but I think it works much better on a smaller scale. It's called "Strapped":

This is the most elaborate one I did and I hope it shows. I like it a lot... "Tense":

And here are a couple of detail shots of it:

Whew! OK... So all that is why I haven't been online in three weeks!!!! Hope you like 'em!
