A morning much deserved

After two weeks of craziness and three days of non-stop activity, I finally had a morning to relax among friends. It made all the running around worthwhile for this wonderful treat. It started off with signing the lease for our new house (w00t!) at 8:30am (ugh!). All was made better at the suggestion of bagels with smoked salmon for breakfast. Next thing I know, we have ~8 people milling around the house, talking, listening to music, laughing, and making really, really good food. My breakfast included a toasted plain bagel with cream cheese, egg (flipped with perfection by Chef Metzenberg), greens from our yard, and smoked salmon lightly fried for warmth. Soooo delicious. Magen and Gretchen were the chef stars of the morning, doing most of the work so the rest of us could laze around and enjoy ourselves. I got a shot of the heroes at the end of the morning.

I adore my soon-to-be housemates. I think we're going to make a wonderful, vibrant home filled with love and people and dancing and music and creativity and excitement. I'm excited to live entirely with people my age. I think it'll work great.

The rest of the day was generally enjoyable and somewhat productive. Bike shop trip, trying to beat the heat, planning for East Meets West, buying a plane ticket for Burning Man (whoo!), taking care of emails, practicing ballroom, and then out to the alternative milonga at Norse Hall. Good times all around.

Today, of course, it's back to being busy. The break was still much appreciated.

portland, friends, happy moments
