She rapped the wooden spoon hard on the edge of the pot for emphasis. She could see his lips curled in a closed smile. Underneath it, he's surely gritting his teeth.
Turning back to the pot, she lifted the spoon and carefully raised it to her lips, blowing the tiniest hint of air against it before passing it between her lips. Shit. Too bland. I should have started much sooner. Perhaps let it sit overnight. She turned back to face him. Still smiling that damn smile.
