His breathing became rigid. It became heavy and his chest started to slow down it's rising and fall. His body began to shake a bit as his arms reached around his body to hug himself. The voice rung in his ears from Andy and wouldn't stop. He couldn't even stop it himself.
"I'm entering the army for my two year service."
Those words haunted him like no other words he has ever heard in his entire life and when he heard those words, he ran out of the room immediately, He ran to the bathroom, where he thought he could always find peace. What he didn't know was that Andy had followed him all the way to the bathroom. Dongwan slammed the bathroom stall he was hiding in, choking on his own sob and beating himself because, he won't be able to see the one who took his heart away from him for two years. For two long years of his life. He was so close to Andy. Even though he was older than the younger one, he adored him. He never thought he would adore anyone like he does now. Especially since it was with a man.
"Dongwan...." Andy called out in a soft voice, "please come out....?"
Dongwan swallowed hard and wiped at his nose, sniffling as he shook his head, "I can't...."
"Why not?"
"Because I'm a mess...."
Andy chuckled and he rested against the door of the stall that Dongwan was hiding in, "I've seen you in worse conditions."
"What's that supposed to---"
Andy burst into laughter and hearing his laughter made Dongwan smile widely. Hearing Andy's voice and laughter was soothing to Dongwan, almost like a lullaby.
"I know the news about me entering the army is hard, but...." Andy sighed and rested his head against the stall's door, "You know that it's mandatory for us men..."
Dongwan knew it more than anything and sometimes, he wished Andy would have lived in America his entire life, instead of coming here, having to serve time. But as he knows it, life isn't fair half of the time. Dongwan sighed and sniffed once saying in a shaky voice, "I'm coming out." He tugged at the handle slowly and the door opened up, revealing Andy in front of him with a small smile. Dongwan bit his lower lip and tugged the maknae into his arms, holding him tightly and not wanting to let him go. He didn't want to let him leave for the military. He didn't want to risk forgetting about him.
That's what he was afraid of.
He didn't want to forget the person he loved. He couldn't even bare the thought of forgetting about him and finding someone else to replace him. Dongwan leaned back a bit, looking at Andy with red eyes, the maknae looking down sadly and he slowly tilted the man's head upward by the chin with his index finger to make him look into his eyes.
Andy blinked once when he catches sight of Dongwan's eyes that were filled with sadness. He searched for even a small spark of light in them until he felt his warm lips against his. Andy gasped inaudibly, eyes widening and he felt his heart race wondering if this was real. Dongwan cupped Andy's cheeks and slowly motioned his lips against the maknae's own. Andy stood still and didn't know what to do at the moment. He felt his stomach do somersaults and his hands slowly reached to Dongwan's back, clutching the fabric of his shirt tightly with his eyes closing and his lips returning the movements against Dongwan's lips.
Dongwan's lips curved into a smile as he continued the kiss and led it, his arm dropping to Andy's side and bringing him closer. After a few minutes of kissing, what they both wanted for a long time from one another, Andy whispered with a small pant, "So this is how you've felt for me all this time..."
Dongwan blushed and he didn't deny it, "Yes...Is that a problem?"
Andy's grip on Dongwan's shirt grew tighter with a small frown curving his lips, "Why did it take you so long...Now I don't want to say goodbye."
"I'm so sorry...I was...I just...I didn't want to get rejected..."
"So it made it okay to keep it in for so long...To keep it in until it hurt?"
Dongwan frowned and tightened his hold on Andy, burying his face in his neck as he tried to fight back the tears.
"Promise me something?" Andy spoke quietly as he hugged Dongwan to him.
"Yes?"
"Will you wait for me?"
Dongwan wanted to hear those words. He wanted to hear hope. And he did. Now he knows to wait for sure, for the one he loves. Now he can remember this day, the promise that he made with Andy.
"Yes, I will be more than happy to wait for you, Andy."
2 years later
"Yo, Dongwan!" Eric waved to me once he arrived outside of the military facility with Hyesung, "How long have you been waiting?"
Dongwan chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck, "About 3 to 4 hours..."
Eric's eyes widened, "Why so long!?" He looked over at Hyesung who blinked in confusion and shrugged.
"Because I'm dying to see him..."
Hyesung crossed his arms with a wide grin on his lips, elbowing Eric lightly before he leaned against his chest and Eric gladly responded with his arms wrapping around his lover's body. Eric rested his chin on top of Hyesung's head and before he could ask, Jun Jin and Min Woo arrived with a loud scream of happiness.
"Our maknae is finally being released!" Min Woo sobs dramatically and leans against Jun Jin, his face buried in his arm that's resting against Jun Jin's arm.
Jun Jin rolled his eyes and shrugged him off, "Stop being such a drama queen and be a man! Our fans are here and so is the press."
"But Jun Jin! Our baby's growing!" Min Woo whimpered.
Jun Jin flicked at Min Woo's forehead and Min Woo's head flung back.
"Anyway," Jun Jin responded, "why did you get here so early? Sounds like you're one of the fangirls, man."
Dongwan glared at him for a second before he blinked at the sound of screaming.
All of the members glanced up and smiled widely when they saw their band member, their maknae, walk out of the building with his uniform on. Dongwan's heart stopped at the sight of him after two years. He saw Andy salute everyone with a big smile on his lips, tears forming around his eyes. Jun Jin patted his back with a small smile and motioned his head forward to signalize for them to go up and surprise him.
All 5 of them walked up to the stage and heard the fangirls screaming in shock and happiness, seeing Andy's expression. His mouth dropped and they all saw tears stream down maknae's face. Maknae covered his eyes with his arms, lips quivering to keep a sob in. All of the members surrounded him and hugged him tight like they always do with each member. The fangirls screamed and some even cried.
To Dongwan, this was the best day he has ever had in two years.

Andy and Dongwan all returned back home to celebrate and they partied at their heart's content. Dongwan sat next to Andy at all times as Andy told his military stories to the band members. Dongwan drank out of his bottle of soju listening but he kind of wished he were alone with Andy to finally talk to each other after a long time.
To tell Andy that he kept his promise.
One by one, each member started to pass out from drinking too much. Dongwan's eyes kind of started to droop a bit since he was on like his 11th bottle of soju but he didn't stop. He wanted to do whatever he wanted to celebrate Andy's return. Andy reached for his hyung's bottle and took it out of his hand.
Dongwan's eyes trailed to his bottle of soju, watching Andy in a daze as he drank of the bottle.
"Miss me?" Andy asked as he set the bottle down on the table, sitting back against the couch with his legs crossed.
Dongwan sighed with a smile as his hands wiped at his own face, "What do you think? You've always been on my mind these past two years, maknae."
"I'm not so much of a maknae now, am I?"
Dongwan shifted a bit to face Andy and his hand reached for the younger man's hand, playing with his fingers and looking at them as he murmured, "I wanted to be alone all day...."
Andy chuckled and gave his hyung a squeeze, "You know it's a reunion for all of us, Wan...."
"I know, but I was dying to tell you something."
Andy blinked and tilted his head, "What is it?"
Dongwan leaned closer and he trapped the maknae with his arm, resting his hand firmly on the cushion of the couch as he pressed his lips against the other man's lips. Andy didn't even flinch nor did he move. On the contrary, he reached up to wrap his arms around Dongwan's neck to further deepen the kiss a bit, longing for more of his hyung's lips after two years of not being able to kiss each other for the second time. Now he got the chance.
Andy's lips curved into a smile against Dongwan's lips even though he could taste the strong liquor on the his tongue. Dongwan pulled back and looked at Andy in the eyes with a smile, panting just a bit but not too hard against the maknae's lips.
"Welcome back, Andy," Dongwan whispered, "I kept my promise."
