2x14 - Bound / Picspam

Yes, this is ultra-late, I know! I blame ~certain people. A lot. Direct all complaints to FISTING@CUTTINGBITCHES.COM -- seriously though, family stuff last weekend, tons of work... next few recaps are probably going to be late as well, with mandatory overtime at my job. Just a heads up.

And even with all the extra time I had to do this-- I still can't feel I did this episode justice. OH MY LORD, it was beyond amazing. I want to just put it in a box and keep it in my heart forever. But I can't do that, so I put it on my iPod instead.

I wasn't sure why Kahlan would have her brush out, but then I remembered Princess-hair, and... yeah, I'd be brushing it every waking moment.

Ugh, these two kill me with their cuteness. How dare they? Even with imminent danger, they still take the time to be adorbs.

OMG I LOVE YOU SHOW.
(though I distinctly remember Cara being naked when this happened in the books. what gives.)

This episode is one huge neck fest. As if we needed to worship another part of Bridget Regan...
(I'm still stuck on the cute ears zomg)

What happens if she trips and chokes on that thing?!

I think Cara is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the camera man's fault. Cara is blurry, and that's extra scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus Mord'Sith roaming the Midlands. Run, she's fuzzy, get out of here!♥ Mitch Hedberg and TeamBAMC.

Absolutely loved how they framed the relationship between Zedd and Kahlan in the beginning of the episode...
her reliance on him, her trust, the emotions between them, his concern. It provided an awesome point of
reference for Kahlan's relationship with her father later in the episode.

Really loved how much of the R/N relationship they managed to fit in the episode...
I must admit, Faith of the Fallen is my favorite and this episode was orgasmic.

I love it when Cara and Kahlan have girl-talk and it manages to be sweet and still in-character.

And then Kahlan's all breathless but it's actually because of Nicci, because R&N are ruuuuuuuning for their lives.

Then they have to stop the running for this:

I love how Nicci is evil because she's ultimately good inside-- and just disillusioned and complex and awesome.
(also, I think EF is doing a phenomenal job at showing us this characters' layers. i want to flail on her...
I can't believe she's only been "Nicci" for 2 episodes! so amazing.)

I hadn't even seen this when I first saw the episode. SO GORGEOUS.

Reason #352 why this picspam was so late: Daddy Issues (random capitalization is not random).

Scene just got 10x more pleasant to my eyes and other parts, GUH.
And Cara gets a bazillion points for comforting K and trying to get her to accept her Dad...

...until Kahlan snaps, that is.

JESUS. I feel like I have whiplash just from watching this.

I have so many ~issues every time her dad shows any kind of concern or affection for her.

DEAR KAHLAN, HOW SO EPIC? LOVE, ME.

Emotional, physical, dramatic, comedic-- was there any kind of acting note B didn't hit in this episode? STANDING OVATION.

2. I feel bad for the troglodyte. Usually "but she was asking for it" makes me raaaage, but this time... she did.
3. Richard's face of disappointment? OMG. When R/K make babies... dude. You don't want to see that face. Ever.

It's so dirtybadwrong but so hot. Not R/N per se, but... just the blood and the sweat and the DIRTY.
Although I'm not sure what turns me on the most, the dirtybadwrong, or Richard's FAITHFULNESS.

This show is exhausting. Just when you think they're done being epic, they one-up themselves.

SUCH. POWERFUL. ACTING.
It has to be magic. Emily and Craig made me bawl with this.

The balance between book and show elements and differences was amazing in this episode.
I hated that in the books the mates died when the confessors died - I think the whole "waking up" device is so much more powerful.
And this-- her Dad remembering those times, with bittersweet memories... I had doubts about how they would handle this
"reunion" considering how evil her dad had been made out to be, but... hats fucking off to the writing crew, man. And everyone
else involved in this episode.

GODS, B. MUST YOU SLAY US WITH EVERY SCENE?

Fredrick: So, are you saying I deserved it?

This episode needs a serious meta. The parallels of confession vs. what happened to Nicci, the magic in forgiveness,
passion rules reason... so many themes, so little time. I am beyond in love with this episode.

Her dad as a carver? OMG SHOW. ILUSFM.

I'm not a fan of spiders, but I don't have a phobia either. That being said, I hope a lot of that is CGI.

Concerned!Richard is such a turn-on.

Cara in general is a turn-on... and hair-brushing makes me GUH so much.

Kahlan's first concern is Richard, Richard's first concern is Kahlan... so epic.
And Cara is the best protector/guardian ever, js... ILHSFM.

Her dad is totally brushing her hair and omg I'm so bawling again.

Her epic hair seems to offset Fredrick's, so...even if we take Panis into consideration,
