Well, I think this might be my first entry from my desk at work! The students are on break this week, so I don't have a whole lot to do. Last week my boss gave me a few things that need to be done before I leave (which is in JULY) and if I start them all now, I'll be finished before May even hits. Ugh, I can tell May is going to be a looooooooooong month.
Nothing much going on here actually. This weekend was a little blah. Friday I stayed home alone. Was just about to finish "The Brothers Karamazov" when I literally passed out on the couch. I woke up two hours later and the book had been thrown on the floor. Weird. Then I ended up staying up till 2:30 AM which then made me tired the entire next day.
Saturday Bridget and Bri came over to do load after load of laundry. I went and bought a new camera since I broke mine by sitting on it! Only 150 for the camera and memory card and it seems to work well, so that's all good. And it's blue! Which automatically makes it more fun. Then we went and dropped my car off because it needs some fixing. Went home and had sandwiches and beer for lunch which was super fun and then went to see this sign in the middle of Western Maine.
Maine has all these cities that are countries (China, Poland, Mexico, etc) and there is one of those signs that has them all listed, along with their mileage from the sign's location. So we went and saw that. It was about 45 minutes away and we were literally there for 5 minutes. Snapped a few pics, looked at the sign, and then drove all the way back. It was pretty random but also fun. Got home and was super tired. At some point, we watched "Choke" which was pretty good and then went out for Mexican.
Picked up my car after that and was annoyed because I have to take it to the dealer to get something special done. Ugh. It's probably going to cost a million dollars. Great! After that we watched "The First Wives Club" (a classic!) and then went to bed.
Yesterday I didn't do much. Rock of Love Reunion, which was a total yawn. Then I went and found a reading tree on the Bates quad and read "The Satanic Verses" for like 2 hours or more. It was wonderful to be outside and sitting under a tree and the book was great. I'm really excited to continue reading it. I've wanted to for a long time. Then I played some video games, talked to Courtney, watched DH and called it a night.
Today I had the unfortunate experience of waking up at 6 AM and being unable to go back to sleep. So I just went to the gym and was there from like 6:30-7:30. My back is killing me from running. I'm debating whether or not I should go get it checked out.
I'm getting really pumped to move and I think I'm going to slowly start the purging process. I have lots of stuff that it's probably time to let go of (old Biology tests, for example). I have a hard time letting go of stuff, but I need to work on that. I don't want to pay for lots of shipping to Seattle and I also don't want to super overload the car since I'll be making frequent stops. I don't need another break in!
This upcoming weekend I am going to Providence, which should be pretty fun. I'm staying with my sister's friend from college, Blake, whom I have never met. So that will be random but should also be pretty fun! Getting to explore a new city always is. Plus, this will probably be the first and last time I'm in Rhode Island. Which brings me one state closer to being in all 50 (and of course, I'll get my picture with the Welcome to Rhode Island sign).
New music obsession--Lykke Li. Look her up on imeem.com. Quite good. Good running music. And just good stuff in general. I'm trying to get more new artists, so recommendations are welcome. I'm not sure who I'm talking to because I think this livejournal has stopped receiving many visitors.
Alright, well I think I'm going to catch up on world news or read Wikipedia or something. I'm probably still a good hour and a half away from being able to leave work. Boo!
BREAK!
