286: Wow...

 jiffed from
szandara: My first full year... weird, huh?

JANUARY
88: It's a New Year...
And I'm still stressed. So far, it looks like I'm taking all the stresses of the old year into the new.
(That was the winter of the 'air empty as apathy'.)

FEBRUARY
106: *collapses*
After having to fill it out almost half a dozen times, I *finally* submitted the FAFSA.
(Remember how much it took to get that info out of my dad? Blech. I'm looking forward to doing my FAFSA this year as an independent. :P)

MARCH:
Father leaves, taking computer and internet. Am without and absent for entire month.

APRIL:
118: From the Library Computer...
I think it's been a month--maybe more than that. You all may well have completely forgotten me, or presumed my death.
(My return, thanks to the public library computers. I was surprisingly cheery. ^_^)

MAY:
136: You don't wanna know what I've been doin'...
In a few weeks, then, maybe I won't feel so lost...:(
(Naturally, I've forgotten what it was I was doing I didn't want y'all to know. Prolly sitting around, not doing my homework and feeling like a failure. XD)

JUNE:
151: Double Portrait, by Andrew J. Leggett
They stand side by side,
but not looking at each other,
far too awkward for touching:
(This was a poem, obviously, about Andre and Emily. They had long since drifted away, sadly...) Also, I graduated, obviously. :P

JULY:
166: Beverly Sills Died...
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-me-sills3jul03,0,1803203.story?coll=la-home-center

My gasp just marked the end of an era. Seriously. I'm just surprised Joan Sutherland didn't jiff it first...she's waaaaay old. I guess Aussies are just more longevious than us Yanks. XD

(My early adolescene was marked by an operatic obsession. It really was an end of an era for me...oh, and y'know, graduating. :P Strangely, it didn't *feel* real to me...graduating, I mean. It seems like that, and coming down here, happened so quickly, I'm still adapting to the realization. XP)

AUGUST:
172: Mille perdoni, cari amici miei...
But I haven't been able to log on, or thus too depressed by recent events to feel like posting...
(I *really* fell off the face of the earth this time; just really depressed about my inaction in getting a job, which really came to bite me in the ass as I had no money for books when I got here. DX This will not be a problem next semester, thank the Virgin. *crosses self*)

SEPTEMBER:
175: So...
Yeah. I am now at college--at Whittier.
(This month, I finally got a job--yay, language lab!--started college, and started posting more than I *ever* have.)

OCTOBER:
198: Some More Random Updates...
Saturday the Penns (society) had a dance over at the Masonic Lodge.
(And my dance moves were *obscene*! ^_~ This month I actually did 40 posts...whoa. o.o)

NOVEMBER:
238: Can You Tell...
I don't want to be here right now?
(I was just anxious to leave work and go and do a Southern Accent. This month was less happy, because I was starting to feel a lot of disappointment and readiness for the semester to be over--continued into now. :P)

DECEMBER:
275: Flannery and Stefani...and Mulkey, too! ^_^
I may be falling in love with Flannery O'Connor.
(And I still am... this has been the time of getting excited about literature, music, etc. ^_^)

It really was a year of big changes, huh? Espeically these last three or four months. XD Y'know, last year at this time I couldn't see far into the future and was panicking--now that I'm at the point, things are looking really up, no? Well, apart from the iffiness about getting home and some mild disappointment from one terrible teacher, a mediocre library, and homesickness. But that's the freshman experience, no?

meme, nostalgia
