British use

Here in South Africa we are taught British English...

As opposed to Australian English? Isn't that one closer than Britian anyways...? ;P

But I really should have figured that from the context, oh well...

What would I say for 'chuffed'? The only thing I can think of is 'thrilled'...

Oh! We'd say 'stoked'. As in: I'm totally stoked, man!

Yeah, we never really think of the images our colloquial expressions come from... 'chuffed' sounds like your stuffing something, or you're chugging...

I actually associate 'chuffed' with that happy noise dogs make when they are pleased..bwhahaha ;-)
