So, I know it's been a LONG time since I posted anything, but some weird stuff went down today. So I've been on tour with Missoula Children's Theatre for what seems like forever, and there are two big downsides to this job:
1) Due to the late schedule, you don't get to go out very often to do even basic social things, like walk around the mall.
2) Due to the nature of the job, you see virtually no one your own age, and in turn, are easy turned on (i.e. horny)
This week I am in Ok. City, OK, and we have the pleasure of having an early schedule, so I got to travel to the local mall. (much like Bellevue Square) I split up with my partner and go shopping in all the correct nerdy places...and this is where it starts to get weird. I walk into Gamestop (it's still Software Etc. to me...*sniff*) and I start looking at the GI JOE DVD that happens to be in the Anime section. I was literally in the store for 15 seconds when the only female employee I have ever seen at any mall electronics store-ever- walks up to me and proceeds to talk to me for 10 minutes about all the different anime series' on the shelf. I think to myself that this is a tad strange:
1) I have never been approached by a girl of any kind at any mall ever.
2) I have never been approached by an apparently nerdy girl to discuss nerdy things at any mall ever.
But I toss it all up to chance, and move on...to Waldenbooks, where I wander into the Fantasy section. I am there for less than 15 seconds, when a female employee asks me if I have ever read any "Forgotten Realms" books. I'm thinking to myself, "you gotta be f'in kidding me," but I press on, and we have a quick 3-5 minute conversation about the quality of the post R.A. Salvatore Drow books. It was seriously whacked-I was excited and disturbed at the same time. I kinda understood the first girl, but two in one day? And the second girl was pretty darn cute...enough to wish I wasn't only in OK City for another couple of days. But I guess my partner put it best when she said, "I guess you were due."
I guess so, I guess so....but why when I'm so far from home?
