I've got a job interview! For the cataloguer position!!! YAAAAAAAAYYYY!!!

Even if I don't get the job, after being unemployed for over a year, I'm so happy just to be getting interviews in my field. ::jumps up and down excitedly::

Okay, the Star Trek Corps of Engineers series? Is AWESOME. At least the collection of novellas I got from the library, Wounds, is. Solid, competant prose, tight plotting, cameos from Kira and Nog, lots of kick ass female OCs, there is nothing I don't like here. Yay!

Also, I now have socks with teapots on them. My life is complete.

Finally got my disseration results in the mail today---I got a 68! A merit! Which tea_drinker77  had to explain was a really good thing, in a text, but I figured I passed at least, and that's the important thing.

I can't believe I'm officially done with grad school. I can start thinking of myself a real librarian. OMG. This is so cool.

So, I may not have gotten any books for Xmas, but  tea_drinker77  and I got a civil partnership last week, and as a present (among others) our friends got us a total of £60 worth of book store gift certificates-£30 at Waterstones, and £30 at Amazon. Our friends know us well.

tea_drinker77  gave me £20 in John Lewis gift vouchers for my birthday, and I've been waiting for the post-Xmas sales to try and buy a sweater or cardigan's worth of Rowan yarn. I've been dying to knit a garment in Rowan, but it's SO. DAMN. EXPENSIVE. The sheep they use must live off caviar and solid-gold potatoes or something. I've been eyeing the Morning ( Read more... )
