The Rules: Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen authors (poets included)* who've influenced you and that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen you can recall in no more than fifteen minutes.

Here's my list:
  • Madeleine L'Engle
  • Charlotte Bronte
  • Eli Clare
  • Judy Grahn
  • Susan Cooper
  • Barbara Kingsolver
  • Sarah Waters
  • Emma Donoghue
  • Olga Broumas
  • Jane Austen
  • Adrienne Rich
  • Audre Lorde
  • Starhawk
  • Dianne Sylvan
  • Alison Bechdel

I always love memes like this; they tell you so much about yourself. All women there, except Eli Clare, who's trans. Sie's book Exile and Pride was like an intellectual bomb in my life. Hir connections between disability, queerness, nature, and politics changed me forever. Barbara Kingsolver started me on my journey to becoming a radical pinko commie baby-eating hairy feminist lefty. Alison Bechdel gave me an example of queer community and alternative family to follow. Jane Eyre introduced me to how empowering anger can be, when I was 13. Starhawk, Dianne Sylvan, and Madeleine L'Engle all profoundly influenced my spiritual life. It's a little mini-biography of me, that list.

In other news, I need to make an appointment with the doctor, because withdrawing from these meds is definitely giving me side effects. I'm anxious again (CRAP), and really really fatigued, which I don't need to be right now, what with everything going on. I think I'll have to postpone going off my meds till the spring. And I can't let him bully me this time.
