Rainy Day Person

I never realized how little energy I have on rainy days....I even slept through some of Highlander. Oh yeah, thats right, I haven't really put much on here in the last few days. So allow me to give a brief synopsis of whatever the first things that come to my mind are.

Got wasted on Friday night with Adam, Ryan & Jordan at Adam's place, playing N64. And not only that, it was multiplayer Goldeneye! I took Jaws.....bad idea. Even when I was being cheap and kneeling and subsequently "scooting" on my knees, he's still only a little bit smaller than everyone else (excluding Oddjob) so I got whacked around a fair bit. But after that, I wised up and took Baron Samedi (just as disfigured as Jaws, but not quite as large)....Adam kept taking Natalya and was a blood-drenched undead corpse by the end of it. hehehehehe....scooting by. Hit the Piggy, hit on Adam's old roommate for a bit (with the boyfriend right there), much to Adam's chagrin. So I backed off for his sake. Found Bronwen & Stef, who ended up being at each others throats by the end of the night. Whoop-dee-fucking-doo! So on the way back from Bronwen's with Stef, we ran into a couple of cats who were coming back from the watering holes and guess what happens, but a jam session comes to fruition. Jeff doing acoustic and Jay on electric, but I was the shocker of the night. Drumset was in beautiful shape, and was a sweet setup to begin with, except for a few problems:

1. No throne
2. No kick-drum pedal
3. NO STICKS!

Okay, so I pulled up a chair for the throne...no problem there. The kick drum I could do without by just subbing in the floor tom whenever I got a free arm. But no sticks? NO PROBLEM! I used my hands! And anyone who has ever seen me drum knows that I like to lean on the hi-hats HEAVY. So I started beating the hell out of my hands on the drumset. Long story short, I got some fierce bone-bruises on my hands, and wowwed the guys with how well I was able to improvise. So much so, that Jeff gave me an invite to be used in a backup role for his drummer, and first spot as his drummer for a new band that is in the works. Hells yeah! And this guy isn't fucking around either...Jeff & Jay have done the Festival of Lights before and are working on opening up for the Trews next month.

But enough of that nonsense for now. I think I'm going to clean up a bit, go to Timmy Ho's for a bite, and watch some Reservoir Dogs, loaned to me by Jordo...what a sport :D Oh yeah, and on the work front, I think I'm in line for a promotion, which is odd because I thought I was still on the chopping block from last month. I guess they have a few holes to fill up top with Dave leaving at the end of July....goddamn I'm going to miss that guy. Oh yeah, while I'm still on the topic of work & co-workers, congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Blair & Khrystie Rathwell. I'm surprised how many people knew me at the wedding reception. Tommy, Wader, Gary....not bad for a guy who didn't think he'd know anybody there and didn't even have a date for it!

Well, I must make haste...Mickey is a sopping mess and I'm going to have to dry her off because a wet animal always gravitates to either leather furniture or my mom's favourite couch.
