SPN 5.16 Some more thoughts
Some flisties seem pretty heartbroken about this episode. I don't mind that Sam and Dean are a little broken at the moment. I found it strangely satisfying that they were both so articulate about their thoughts in this episode.
I had an interesting thought upon rewatch. Yep, it does suck that some of Sam's fondest memories are when he was alone. Times when he also abandoned Dean and/or Dad. When evil!Mary started in on the whole "everybody leaves you" speech, I wondered if the choice of memories for the boys were not another mind fuck by Zachariah? I.e. that means we don't need to be crying our eyes out that the three occasions we saw from Sam's memory are his exact idea of heaven.
Also, I hope everybody didn't miss the implication that since Sam and Dean had access to each others heavens..... they are soul mates or .... you know, something like that
Also, I think Jared and Jensen knocked it out of the park this week. So many awesome little moments. Dean's contained rage after Sammy is shot.... that awesome little reaction shot when they first arrive in the road where Same left for Standford and Sam realises first where they are....
One more thing - Sam sure as hell better have picked that amulet out of the trash!!.
