at work!
Am at work. On a Sunday, as usual. Am going to the Big Day Out this evening, accidentally. So I get to see bands I don't care for especially like Muse, Tool, Jet, The Killers and Crystal Method, though The Presets, violent Femmes and Hot Chip will hopefully be really fun.
feeling bad for not writing more, well...not bad, but sad I guess, because now beaglewrites is about, I've rarely got time to write anymore. Hopefully I'll get back to it soon. There are so many great people here. Lots of good changes are happening. I've decided not to finish my massage certificate because there are infinitely more important things to do, like learn how to record music on computers.
Been spending the last few days with my friend from LA, Bruce, who is great fun, super friendly, and just happens to have loads of great stories about working with really good bands in the 70s and 80 while working International A&R for Capitol/EMI. He's pals with The Crystal Method, hence the tickets and exciting evening after work.
Had a brilliant few days in Tasmania at my friend's wedding. beaglewrites and I drove around the east coast and each day brought a new season. the wedding itself was shrouded in thick fog, though it never rained, kind of like a cocoon with lots of slightly drunk, well-dressed Tasmaians within. Is was quite well done given the questionable organisation and low budget. Gorgeous location, in Neika. Tunes went down pretty well, amazingly one guy knew I'm From Barcelona, and he covers band and stand-up comedian veered between good and so-bad-it's-good. I got into playing Texas Hold-Em Poker which was fun, better to watch though, than continue losing to people who know the game so much better than me.
