Not that this is a particularly encouraging thought. I mean, eep. My actual driving test isn't until the 25th, thankfully, and my mum will be back by then.
Yes, my mum's in England again. My nan passed away on the 23rd after three long months in hospital, and the funeral is set for the 11th. My mum and her sister are busily selling all her things and sorting out all that stuff that needs doing when someone dies. What if there isn't anyone to do that stuff for you, I wonder? Well, anyway.
Alice is in Sorento with a friend, so for two days it's just the same as last October, when it was just me and my dad for two weeks. I should be saved this time by Caitlin, however, who is coming tomorrow... I think? I can't really remember what dates we said. I should probably ring Bronwyn and find out. Is 9.21 too early? Nah, they live on a farm, they better be up.
Am going shopping in an hour or so for marquee/balloons/decorations for THE DO, which is just turning out to be so much bigger than I anticipated, even with my mum away. (Yup, she's missing my 18th birthday. Shit happens.) To put the icing on the cake (and there will be cake, by the way) my dad's updated 'the video' which is the tape he always swore he would show everyone on my 18th birthday and he's going to set up a TV outside, somehow. So you all get to laugh at me, all 17 years. Yay. For those that don't think a party is complete without liquid drugs, there will be beers and stuff as well, though don't expect me to touch them.
Have got RSVPs now from everyone with an LJ except Annabelle (is she on the farm, too? I can't REMEMBER) and only elusive IB people are left. They have apparently faded into obscurity. Whereee areee yooooou....?
