So.

x Two copies of my Research Commission are in my bag, ready to be taken to the bookroom and bound tomorrow. Thank god that part is over.
x I have a meeting with Ms D about Portfolio. Hopefully by now she'll have stopped caring, like I have, and just tell me to hand it in and be done with it.
x Practical Play analysis blows.
x We had theatre in Music 3.01 today! It was weird. Memories of MS Mads. *nod*
x My dad's going to America next Thursday for two weeks, which is the longest he's been away since when I was seven and he used to go to Scotland for months at a time and we'd visit him on school holidays. I feel very nostalgic.
x I had my hair cut today. THANK GOD. Except even though it's no longer raggedy, now it can't decide what length it should be. It's not short or long. Just... middly.
x Am I going to be alone at Fridays this week?
x I have done stage 1 of my application for Trinity College and sent an email requesting an audition for the choir. *nervous*
x Ugg.

For those who haven't been keeping up with the situation, here's how the class of '06 have been keeping up the fine IB Theatre Arts tradition of wanting to a) die or b) kill something. Or someone.

We have three projects due next week, and each of these is worth 25% of our theatre arts grade. The remaining 25% is Ms D marking us on how well we performed overall during the performances which we were involved in over the last two years - which is based on what we write in one of the three projects, the Portfolio. Now despite the Portfolio and Research Commission being worth exactly the same amount of marks, we've had the Research Commission since March and the Porfolio since about two weeks ago, because we had to write all the stuff we did this year in that. Also happening next week is the Practical Play Analysis - a 30 minute oral presentation describing how we would direct our chosen play, were we the director of it.

Now here's the question we're all wondering - why are all these things due, more or less IN THE SAME WEEK? And why, after all the hard work and tears we've put into some of this work, does our teacher still insist on saying hurtful things and pressuring us into fits of anxiety and nervous breakdowns?

To be fair, we have been given the option of doing a practice PPA next Thursday and doing the 'real' one after the holidays, but to be honest, I would much rather that my IB Theatre Arts experience was over as of next week, as promised. I have little enough time on the holidays as it is to study for mock exams, since I'll be at Oxford study for five days and I plan to have at least one day off for the next Buffython (see below).

So yeah, this is why we're all wanting to kill ourselves at the moment, even though everyone else is wanting to kill us for talking about it so much. I'm pissed because PPA is such a useless waste of time and the theory behind Research Commission is craptastic (how do you write a report which is meant to give practical advice... without actually giving advice? BUGGER THAT). Sanna is pissed because dragon-lady kept her RC for about three weeks and then claimed she hadn't recieved a final draft. Cheryl is pissed because as an SL student she has 3000 words to fit two years worth of work into. Sarah-Mae is upset because dragon-lady told her (in all cheerfulness) that her RC was worth a 5, and Alpana was told she could scrape a 3 (if she tried really really hard). Sian is annoyed because the information gained from her RC being sent to the teacher at Carey was pretty useless (as was mine, come to think of it...) and well, it's just one big annoyance fest. The end.

x But in the good news, not counting the farewell class next term, I only have TWO CLASSES LEFT of theatre arts. The torture is almost over.

Mitz, Bron, Ashley, Annabelle:
Who's up for Buffython again, seasons 4-7? (and Angel 1-5?) Date suggestions? It has to be in the first week of the holidays - Sunday till Friday, that is. I'm starting Oxford study on the Saturday. I think the general concesus is that it'll be at my house again, despite the journey to and from, but if anyone disagrees or thinks they would prefer to host it, say now so I can stop organising :P
PS. Rules are - Buffy and Angel only! No smuggling in other, distracting stuff! THAT MEANS YOU MITZ.
