Sometimes I just absolutely love this town.
Even more than when you are accidently stairing at someone while leaving the metro and they, instead of getting all upset, smile the biggest and most heartfelt smile ever that leaves you feeling amazing. Nope, today was great.
First of all I shaved. And that rocks soooo much after how long its been. I love shaved legs. And I finally got some stuff I'd been meaning to buy for awhile for friends. btw, i know heather doesn't do lj, but if anyone has hheinz's address in lakeland, I'd appreciate it.
And my god, no one does a better Christmas Market than the Germans! Complete with a little iceskating rink, Glückwein, and these delightful little donought hole like things, damn, they were good.
And then I stumbled upon a punk-rock record store in Kreuzberg and right at the front of the f's was the from first to last cd. and I read about ricky, raul, and chad crews... IN GERMANY!!! wtf! from now on that's my reference for globalization not being all bad.
Then i stopped in some random leftist bookstore to ask directions and they had whole sections on the topic of my paper. just what i needed. reall, i love germany sometimes. i think i've just been cooped up too much working on this project to realize it.
ooh ohh oh! and i forgot another thing that makes today great. oh god this is so dorky. so today i found the amnesty international office in berlin. and it was like coming home. really, they have an amazing office here. and the people were so nice even though they didn't have what i needed.
but the democratic youth down the hall did. yay for the people actually being nice instead of not writing me back. why? do i really seem like a neonazi trying to learn more about them so i can eliminate them? pishaw.
