Yeap. Today is a good day.
There was no mistake, I collected my exams, and I did indeed pass! :D I was actually 1,5 point off the top grade, which is AHMAAHZINGGG considering I didn't think I'd even pass it! Yaaay! *victory dance with cheerleader pompoms*
Me and my friends sat outside uni eating ice cream in the sunshine. That's the first time this year! Another yay! It was lovely.
Our group presentation on minority groups as crime victims went well. Third yay! :D The teacher said we sounded like we were really interested in our subject. Which I was, after I read a really disturbing report on men's violence, assault and abuse against drug addicted or mentally disabled women. It almost made me sick at times. But it was interesting, a definite eye opener.
I got my shoes and my necklace, and I LAHV LAHV LAHV them! Yay nr 4! :D
And the last Yay! for today: I've been struggling with my B essay and couldn't quite settle on the angle I wanted on the topic I'd chosen (writing as a therapeutic method), and when I walked home from uni today I had a stroke of genius! I wanted to change my topic altogether! I emailed my teacher to ask if it was okay to change my subject and described what I want to do, and he signed off on it! :D It's gonna be a lot of work, cause he wants me to hand in a background, problem overview and the questions I'm gonna base my study on asap, but it's totally worth it.
So, my new essay topic is: Tattoos - do they have any hindering effects on the job market? Social workers are supposed to be warm and welcoming, and I'm wondering if people think tattoos "destroy" this image and creates uncertainty among both clients and employers. I'm gonna ask my classmates if they think tattoos would hinder themselves or others, and if they think it matters what the motif is, how big, how many, placing etc. And also do an interview with some boss type person at social services and see if they regard tattoos as negative, and if they hire people who have tattoos - why/why not? This is gonna be so much fun! :)
So yes, today has been a good day.
