Lollapalooza (Carrie's Pics)

I'm not that sorry about doing two posts in a row, it was confusing having all those links and html mumbo-jumbo in order.

I once again went to Chicago for Lollapalooza. We stayed at the hostel that fucked up our reservations the week before, but this time it worked out. We even got to sleep on lumpy rocket ship mattresses.
We left at 7 a.m. on Friday which is usually when I get out of work. This, along with the excitement of another fun filled weekend in Chicago with Mike Hogan, is why I did not sleep the night before. I made it in time to catch Cursive who put on a great show. The material from the new album sounded pretty rockin.
Other Bands I saw on day 1 included; Ohmega Watts, The Raconteurs, & Sleater-Kinney. I only caught parts of Violent Femmes, eels, Secret Machines, & Death Cab for Cutie
Day 2 got off to a late start. I was propositioned by a hippie couple from California. I missed Rainer Maria but caught the end of Nada Surf and all of Feist. We watched most of Built to Spill but left a bit early to get a good spot for Gnarls Barkley. Mike and I then left for the liqour store for some Colt 45. Common was good, but his lectures about life got tiresome. This day had way to many good acts and i missed out on; Sonic Youth, Particle, Blackalicious, and the New Pornographers.
That night we went to a crazy mexican restaurant with an even crazier waiter and even crazier music videos.
Day 3 also got off to a late start but we were able to get Amy there in time to catch hot chip. Ben Kweller, The Shins, Wilco, and RHCP all put on good shows.

I had a footrace against Amy across the park. Mike is the finish line, notice me getting there before her.
