There was a lot to like in this episode for me. It gets bonus points for actually having Gossip Girl herself playing a key role in the episode - I love that Serena and Blair used the site to play Juliet at her own game, and that we got the character progression of them choosing to trust each other rather than her, and not having the catfight that she wanted them to have. After three seasons of repeated bickering in their friendship, this sort of progress is truly heartening. It makes me think the writers are actually listening.
There was also Eric, and he is always welcome, especially since he now has a halfway decent haircut. It's a shame that his boyfriend is relegated to an offscreen role, but I guess they can barely afford Connor Paolo half the time, much less whoever plays Elliott.
The stuff with Georgina and the baby felt like a bit of a damb squib, for it all to be resolved so quickly. Dan's not the father, Georgina's found out, she's taken the baby and she's gone, quite possibly never to return. I mean, that storyline was never going to be a long-runner but it did rather feel like a place-filler. Still at least it got Danessa to move in together and zzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I can't quite get a handle on Chuck's storyline. It feels like the writers really are trying to redeem him, even going so far back as to having him need to atone for his attempted rape of Jenny in the pilot. It's an interesting direction to attempt, I just wish we didn't have the baggage of Eva on the storyline, as she's not a terribly interesting character.
Oh, and I almost forgot: Penelope! I was so excited to see her I nearly fell off the sofa. I love the prospect of Blair and Serena having minions again. Please let this be a semi-permanent development.
