[log] do you always trust the first initial feeling

The philosophy that Gilly has come to live by over the past year and a half (or so) can be summed up in three simple words: patience and persistence. Pushing Severus never got her anywhere but threatened and shouted at and, memorably, psychically invaded. Waiting for Severus in the inconvenient position of 'right next to him' has been much more successful, which is why her nightly routine involves hopping barefoot and swearing over cold stone floors in the castle because she forgot her slippers again, shaking her hair dry with magic instead of a blow-dryer and justifying robe-theft with the fact his is warmer than hers.

(It's not.)

When she meanders into the bedroom, pulling her hair out from underneath the collar of the (his) robe, he's already there (which, due to his odd hours, she hadn't been expecting but isn't entirely surprised by)- and surrounded by the bags, boxes and packages that make up the reason why she'd taken her sweet time in the bath. Today has been really long, in the best possible way.

"Hey, you're home," she yawns, smiles, and lets her hair fall. "I picked up some things while you were out."

A mistress of the understatement.
