When you find yourself in someplace new
Had to review what was here, twelve years of dust, and all that. Can't believe what I wrote, or where I was in life. Where I am now, of course, is someplace new and rather different. Life contains multitudes and my capacities have been tested and re-tested, and altogether it has been good. Grateful for that.
Grateful for how things have transpired in more recent personal history, amidst all the zaniness of 2020 and subsequent time. It all blends together. If not for a 22-month-old child, it would not be clear to me what time has passed. Very glad for her. My penchant for some convention moved us into the suburbs, and we are better off for being here.
We left Florida almost four years ago, not knowing then that it might have been forever. It is hard to imagine going back. Easy in some sense, sure, but also very hard. That place is just rife with everything. It is enough to visit. It is crazy.
A recent unrelated highlight here: we get four flavors of WPSU-TV on the over-the-air digital antenna, and the Create network has been a boon. It is delightful to simply turn on a television and have free entertainment.
